Am I the only one that thinks Mcelwain sucks ? To me our play calling has a lot to be desired and has since hes been here . Two games and I dont recall a deep pass yet .Eight in the box all day and he never once stretches the defense or attempts to make them pay.

I realize we continue to win but it seems like thats the only part of our game thats lacking. If we didnt have superior athletes across the board we would be in trouble.I just hope it doesnt cost us a game this year as it did last year.

Just an observation ,not trying to start a riot .I was curious if anyone else felt the same.

There were some questionable calls, like there are every game, but at the end of the day, our offense is better statistically than its ever been. I really don't think we opened the play book up at all today. Very basic stuff, especially in the second half.

Do you think he would still be the OC if Saban was not happy with what he does?

It isn't McElwain. Saban is the one that handcuffs the offense. He trusts the defense to not make mistakes to the point of folly at times, but he doesn't, and will never, trust the offense to avoid turnovers.

With a young QB in a hostile environment, they wanted to dink and dunk and keep the chains moving.

One long incompletion equals 2nd and 10.

This.

Can't blame him for it for games like this at least. No need to take chances when the D has it in hand.

He's not gonna call hail marys with a first year starter playing at Penn State. Why take a chance when you can go conservative and wear their arse out?

This statement is what divides somebody who likes to watch football from the folks who understand the game and like to watch football.

Folks like the OP are the ones who sit in the stands and yell "Sit ______ down coach and put in ________"

Calm down homers ...just an observation .Not totally about today just his play calling in general.I know how dare I say anything bad about Alabama .Watched the game with two ex players and they agreed as well .No big deal either way ,like I said an observation.Im not calling for anyones job ,just something Id like to see us improve on .

Thing was we didnt move the ball that great today. We completed 19 3yard passes and Trent had to fight for every yard he got.Not saying go crazy airing it out but a deep pass or two really stretches the defense.Doesnt matter that much against teams we clearly overmatch but against LSU it could hurt us.

P.S. frick your mother
