Wow, I'm surprised they have AU at 9. Thought they'd be in the mid-teens

It's ridiculous that Oklahoma and Georgia are in the top 5 while LSU and Alabama is not. Oklahoma has to rely heavily on out of state recruiting and Georgia has won what, one national championship in their entire history.

Edit: Also as much as I dlslike them, Tennessee is way too low and LOL at Arizona and Oklahoma State being ranked in the top 20 ahead of the likes of West Virginia, Clemson, Washington, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and UCLA. What a joke.

I actually think the analysis of the Bama coaching gig is extremely accurate. High expectations with little margin for error.

I guess history and recruiting base weren't concrete factors in that list. I didn't expect Alabama at the top of list, but #7?

Just because we're really shitty at putting together an entire season doesn't mean that the recruiting grounds, alumni support, expectations, etc, doesn't put us in contention to be one of the best jobs around. Although i'm not sure if it's number 5, it's extremely close with all the good things/advantages that come with being the Head Dawg

That may be true, but the fact is they have been the most consistent team in the country over the past 75 years.

I don't think it's better than Tennessee, either.

Living in the past much? USC is not a top 10 coaching job ATM, neither is Notre Dame. In the "past" yes, but not on 06/03/2011.

yea, you guys are failing to realize that this isn't a "most prestigious coaching job of all time" list. This is saying at this point in time, these are the best college coaching jobs.

I realize that. Doesn't really change anything. If it wasn't for Cam Newton carrying Auburn to a national title, the author would have probably put Auburn around 17.

UGA isn't a top job either, but it is on this list.

The statement below is not a flame.

However, if the average person walks into a room with coach from Auburn and Notre Dame the person will be more impressed with the ND coach. Notre Dame in a bad year is more prestigious than half that list on a good year.

Thanks to the fact that they were in a shite conference for 60 of those 75 years. The only team Oklahoma had to worry about every year in the Big 8 was Nebraska. The other teams in the Big 8 were the equivalent of Kentucky, Mississippi State and Vandy. The Big 8 conference was a joke outside of Oklahoma and Nebraska.
