Hey guys I'm a student at UA and a buddy and I are starting a sports talk show on the campus radio station 90.7 The Capstone. The show is called Capstone Sports Talk. Anyways i'm making my SEC predictions in the next few weeks, and was wondering what you guys thought.
WEST
1.Alabama- 12-0 - SEC- 8-0 Now before anyone says I am being a huge homer I can easily see Alabama losing to either PSU,Florida,LSU, and even the Miss State game the week after the LSU game is a trap game. But I like how our schedule really sets up to get to Atlanta, and that means a very good shot at New Orleans, but I want to see how our QB or QB's play in Happy Valley. That place will be rocking that day. But if we get through that I think we will have a good chance at going through the schedule without a loss. We dont really have a tough strech like we did last year. Although the game in the Swamp just for some reason bothers me after the Arkansas game. I actually like Florida as team a lot this year. As you will be able to tell in my East Predictions.
2.Arkansas-10-2 SEC 6-2 (Losses to Alabama,South Carolina) I really like this team if Tyler Wilson plays like he did against Auburn in the second half. They have Kniles Davis, but will need two new faces to replace the tackle spots on the Oline. I like Adams, and Childs at the wide receiver postion, except they let me down in the Sugar Bowl. I like Bequette, and Franklin on the defense side of the ball which is suppose to be Petrinos best defense he has had.
3.LSU- 9-3 SEC 5-3 (Losses to Florida, Alabama, Arkansas)- I really dont see the whole LSU will be a national title contender. They lost their best player in the secondary, Linebacker, and Dlineman. Loss of the LT will hurt on Offense along with Stevan Ridley. Mettenberger was suppose to be the man from the get go and struggled in the spring, and I dont believe Jefferson can go the whole season playing like he did against us last year.
4. Miss State- 8-4 SEC 4-4 ( Losses to LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas) State will still have a losing record against western rivals. Which will cost them a real chance at competing for the division.
5. Auburn- 6-6- SEC 3-5 (Losses to MSU, Clemson, Arkansas, USC, LSU, Alabama)- Schedule rotates from last year, and replacing so much more than just Cam and Fairley.
6. Ole MIss- 5-7 SEC 1-7 (Vandy, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas,LSU, State)- Possibly more losses depending on BYU and Fresno State.
EAST
1. Florida- 9-3 - SEC 6-2 ( Losses to Alabama, , Auburn, FSU)- This team will start off strong by starting off 4-0, but will give Alabama one of it's toughest games of the year, but showing signs of a team with a new coach and losing a close one in the end. Auburn always beats Florida some how and I think this will end up being one of Auburn's biggest W's of the year. FSU is just a year ahead of Florida right now, which will give them a close Victory over the gators in a close rivalry game. I like John Brantley to be the most improved player in the conference this year. Charlie Weis will help him out tremendously. Former gator QB Shane Matthews said last year if Brantley was in the right system he would be the best QB in Florida history. I dont know about all that, but I think Weis helps me out a ton.
2. USC- 9-3 - SEC 5-3 ( Losses to MSU, Tennessee, florida)- I like the gamecocks, but they wont win the East back to back years. It is just not in their cards. They have great skill position players with Lattimore and Jefferey, but I think Garcia is a liability. Just like Jefferson, Garcia wont play like he did against us every weekend. Florida will get revenge in Columbia this year after gettting blown out in Gainesville last year.
3. Tennessee-8-4- SEC 4-4 ( Florida, Alabama, LSU, Arkansas). I like the vols to improve 2 wins in the regular season this year. I think Dooley proves he will be a pretty good coach in this league. The offense line was so young last year they cant help but be a little seasoned. I like Bray if he can put a little more weight on. He looks like he is one play away from being done for the year. The secondary should be improved, but the Dline will need to step up to keep the vols from getting pushed around late in games.
4. Georgia- 8-4- SEC 4-4 ( USC, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn.)- I think this might be the last hoorah for Mark Richt. I like Murray, but who is he going to throw to? When Green wasn't in the lineup the dogs started the year 1-3, and lost the game he returned. The defense lost it's best player on defense, but I think the Defense might be improved this year in the 3-4 under Grantham. It is just going to be the offense that struggles. The dogs just havnt been physical since Brian VanGorder left.
5. Vandy- 5-7 - SEC-2-6 ( USC, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, Wake Forest) The dores have a new coach with James Franklin, but return 9 starters on both sides of the ball. Aaron Rodgers brother is suppose to be there QB if he can return from an injury. I know they can only go up from 2 wins last year, but a 3 win increase is something Coach Franklin can hang his hat on in his first year in Nashville.
6. Kentucky- 5-7- SEC- 1-7 ( Florida, LSU, USC, Ole Miss,Vandy, Georgia, Tennessee)- The cats lost a lot from an average team last year. No Locke, Cobb, or Hartiline. The D was a bad last year given up more than 200 yards rushing against Vandy,MSU, Ole Miss, and Auburn. The cats need a big plug in the middle in their new 3-4 defensive look. This is including Louisville in the W column which I dont know enough about Louisville so i'm giving them a W.

You're like the 3rd or 4th person to make their first post today, something is fishy.
And anyone who thinks UGA will be 4th in the east is wrong and also an idiot.

He made the same post on TideFans earlier.

Georgia could easily finish 4th in the East. How many healthy offensive lineman do you guys have? I would probably go with 3rd or maybe even 2nd but 4th is defensible.

But to engage in discussion, you have Auburn being terrible (which they will be), going 6-6 overall, talk about how much they lose (which they do), yet beating UGA in Athens. You point to the first 4 games last year (without mentioning that it was Murray's first 4 games of his career and the first 4 games with a brand new defense) and imply that it will be more of the same simply because we don't have AJ.
Also our schedule is maybe the easiest we've had in our history, but is certainly the most managable we've had under Richt. We will win at least 9 games next year.

Did he really? I was unaware of this.
I do enjoy the fact that you don't even mention Bama's losses, but are quick to let us know about what Arky and LSU lost.

This is just ridiculous. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

And we could also easily finish 1st. The east is so bad and our schedule is so easy, combined with how much better we'll be on defense, just makes me see no way we finish worse than 3rd in the division.

Hey Numb-Nutts its Knile Davis
I think you are probably right on with the West side except for I doubt Bama goes undefeated...Oh and we will not lose to USC-E
