Peterson is not a loss, our secondary will be the best we've had in 25 years. Nevis is replaceable, the key is middle linebacker.. can we replace Kelvin Sheppard. If we do, we'll be in National Title game.

Analyzing everything this would be my pre-season "power rankings"
West
1a. Alabama- schedule sets up GREAT. Proven RB and very good defense will be able to protect young QB for most of the season. Not to mention they do have the best coach in college football. They barely get the nod over a very talented LSU.
1b. LSU- JJ does have to make some strides but what most people are forgetting is that they don't have to be that huge. With our terrible QB and retarded coach we managed to go 11-2 with a loss to the eventual national champions and the best Arkansas team easily of the past 20 years in Arky. TON OF POTENTIAL on this team and if utilized they'll be the best team in the SEC.
2. Arkansas- Defense will be decent again, proven very good RB and WR but isn't ya'lls second best WR coming off knee surgery? I could be wrong and I'm not a doctor but this just has to raise some sort of question mark. Finally here is where I'm going to get torched by some pigs. DON'T COUNT YOUR EGGS BEFORE THE HATCH on Wilson. Personally i think he will be the 2nd best QB in the SEC but will go through some growing pains. Problem for Arky is this will be his 1st year and he will be in Death Valley on a Saturday, this WILL NOT BE EASY.
3. Miss State- Good solid year Mullen just simply doesn't have enough talent yet though. And State isn't going to sneak up on anyone, everyone knows how good they are now.
4.Auburn- Just too young. See LSU 08.
5. Ole Miss-
East
1. UGA- Murray will be very good and look for Isiah Crowell to be SEC offensive freshman of the year.
2a. UF- Theres still a ton of talent in Gainsville and the best OC Weis in the league will transform Brantley into a SEC caliber QB over the course of the season. While Muschamp will do what he's done everywhere else which is turn the D into an OC's nightmare.
2b. USCe- I hate putting them so low but whats the deal in South Carolina with the QB? I heard Garcia recently returned to the team or something. As every LSU fan will tell you all the talent in the world means jack shite until you have a good QB at the helm. If Garcia is established as the starter USCe moves to #1 on this list.
3. Tennessee- Dooley is the perfect fit and has this program in the right direction but this teams core talent is still very young, one year too early to contend for the SEC championship.
4. Kentucky- Morgan Newton showed some nice flashes but UK simply lacks the talent to contend.
5. Vandy- Coaching staff and talent just simply can't stand with other teams in the SEC.
With this being said my predictions are.
(indicates losses)
West
1. LSU- 11-1 (Arky)
2. Bama- 11-1 (LSU)
3. Arky- 10-2 (A&M and Bama)
4. State- 8-4 (LSU, Bama, Arky, Auburn).
5. AU- 6-6 (LSU, Bama, Arky, UF, UGA, USCe)
No QB means you loose all of the close ones sorry
6. Ole Miss- 5-7 (LSU, Bama, Arky, UGA, AU, State, UK)
East
1. UGA- 9-3 (Boise, State, Tennessee)
2. USCe- 9-3 (UGA, State, Arky)
3. UF- 7-5 (Alabama, UGA, USCe, LSU, FSU)
4. Tennessee- 7-5 (UF, LSU, Bama, USCe, Arky)
5. UK- 6-6 (UF, LSU, USCe, State, UGA, Tennesse)
6. Vandy- 4-8 (Ole Miss, USCe, Bama, UGA, Arky, UF, UK, Tennessee)

I know yall have talent, but Peterson's impact on special teams and D will be very hard to replace.

I think your D is fine, but not good enough to win a NC with an offense like yall had last year. I think JJ will still be the QB barring injury, and LSU's offense will for the most part be the same as last year's, despite the new OC. I don't think Miles and the rest of the offensive staff are going to let Krag make enough changes to fix the problems that hampered the O last season.
Good team all around, but with the nonconference schedule plus playing in the toughest division in football = 2-4 losses.

Peterson's special team impact ended after the West Virginia game... quiet after that. We'll replace his cover skills with Reid, Matthew,Clayborne, etc.

Against Arkansas, he averaged 40.8 yards per kickoff return, with a long of 55 on 4 returns. He had a big impact on that game, and if it weren't for our semi-athletic kicker, Alex Tejada, he might have scored a TD or two and really changed the game.

I think you might be safe with this prediction. My favorite post of his so far was telling claygast, an Auburn fan living in Atlanta, to be sure to tune in.

I don't see UGA winning the east. They are improving as a team, yes, but not quite there yet.
I believe Spurrier gets another one this year.
2nd will either be UGA or UF, with UT right behind them.
The one thing I can say is there is NO clear front runner in the SEC. And as one poster in here has said, No SEC team will go undefeated in Regulation.
Should be a fun year.

I think it's either us or SC. I really don't see UF or UT winning it.
