...post here. If you have decided sell me on your position to be pro or con Barners.

I want to pull for the SEC to keep the streak alive. I'm finding hard to do that though since there's a chance it may be vacated. I don't want the history books to show no champion for 2010-2011. That just doesn't seem right.

When is the deadline to declare one's allegiance?

For once, I'm not going to have a favorite and just going to enjoy the game. I hope it's good one!

If your logic is what you say, you would root against an SEC team because theres a chance it could be vacated? Really?

How about pulling for Oregon because you don't want the recruiting competition from auburn in addition to everybody else?

I'll tell you why I'm a duck tonight. This doesn't quite apply to you since there aren't a ton of UF/AU recruiting battles and yall aren't traditional rivals. But from a GA perspective, we go head to head with Auburn a lot. It absolutely boggles my mind why any Georgia fan would want Auburn to be even STRONGER, to allow them to go into a recruit's home with a national title ring. We should want all of our rivals to lose 10 games every year. The better our rivals look, the worse we look.

Quite frankly, I think anyone who pulls for another team simply because they are in your conference isn't very bright. frick the SEC, why should I give a good got dang if the SEC wins or loses? I am a GEORGIA fan above all else, that's who I care about. Screw everyone else. I hope Auburn loses by 50.

I have had this problem as well. However, after a lot of thought, I will pull for the Plainsmen. Reasoning: Conference pride, it will be hilarious to see Auburn's win vacated, and will make the PAC-10 knob slobberers have to make a bunch of excuses. It is a win-win-win.

I want to root for the SEC and have in every game previously. The Cam situation, the extremely shady recruiting in Thibodaux, and Fairley acting like a rabid gorilla makes it difficult. It's gonna be a game time decision for me.

If you can align yourself with Bobby Lowder, Milton McGregor, Jimy Rane, Jay Jacobs, Pat Dye, Troopah Taylah, Curtis Luper, Nick Fairley and Cam Newton...go ahead.

I'm pulling for Auburn. I rarely pull for SEC teams in bowl games, or any game in general, unless I hate the OOC team.

Here is my take:

This is the first time the SEC and PAC10 have met in a bowl game since 1989. This is the first time in a BCS game. And it is for the BCSNC. This has been 7 years in the making since the 2003 split title. PAC10 fans are ready to assume the mantle of college football's best conference tonight. And I have been reading Oregon sites and they do think with a win tonight they have the two best teams in the country and the SEC has no reason to claim to be better than the PAC10. That will actually make some sense if they win.

So, that is why you should pull for AU. It is about conference pride. It is about a game that has been a long time coming - SEC vs PAC10 in the BSCNC.

That said, pull for whoever you want. As an Aubie, I am not bothered by SEC fans pulling against it. This one is for us.

I pull for the SEC in bowl games. During the Cotton Bowl we were at a local tavern watching the game. Several people sitting around were wearing their UGA hats or Auburn shirts or hats. One Auburn guy at the bar started jumping up and down and laughing at LSU when A&M scored first. The UGA and other Auburn fans blasted him repeatedly, then when LSU scored he paid his tab and left. All the SEC fans were chanting "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye"

IIRC, last year it was basically Alabama fans and Arkansas fans rooting for the Tide in the NCG.

I'm going with Auburn. I can do that by thinking of their "good" fans. You need to put their "boosters" on the back burner, and think of their normal fans. That worked for me. WDE

Is there any way Auburn could win, but Cam Newton could lose?
