How would Chris Petersen fit into the SEC?

Thoughts?
If he's the man, color me worried. I was worried when we brought in Meyer as well, but BSU's previous coaches and their success scares the shite out of me. My main concern is his ability to recruit against the competition in the South. His team's are very well coached, so I'm not as worried about that.

Recruiting wouldn't bother me with Gruden, but I would worry about the staff with him. I'm not sure how well he would relate to college players.
Back to Petersen..
Back to Petersen..

There's one statistics Meyer and Petersen have in common that should somewhat assuage your fears. They both dominated AQ competition whenever they played those teams at non-AQ schools.
Record against BCS competition
CUM (Bowling Green and Utah) 9-1
Petersen at Boise State 6-1
Also, CUM only coached against (and beat) two teams that finished ranked in the top 25 before he took the Florida job. Petersen's coached against seven teams that finished ranked in the top 25 and is 5-2 against those teams.

See Dan Hawkins at CU. Different mindset out there all together. As a previous poster said "eaten alive".

Peterson was probably the reason Hawkins was successful at Boise. He was the OC from day one of the Hawkins era and has continued that success after Hawkins left.

This has been a long running debate on Gator sites, but it turns out it was rumor started by an Idaho fan based on his name being similar to a famous Scientology author. He is apparently a Catholic.

Who gives a shite what religion he is?

Petersen is Catholic, not a scientologist. Pretty sure UI students started that rumor a couple of years ago.

I don't. Just saying he isn't a Scientologist which is a commonly spread rumor.
Although, it might effect recruiting in religious families.
