Arkansas getting screwed by the refs seems to be a common occurence.

That game was an absolute shite storm. I mean they gave up damn near 50 points with our fricking backup in.

Apparently now the ball can be rolling down your thigh while crossing the goal line and it counts (see Mario Fannin`s 1st half TD). The fact that the Arkansas player`s #ss was on the ground doesn`t mean you`re down. That went from a 1st and These were extremely important and extremely blatant examples of horrible officiating. i know it`s unfashionable to even suggest that any team other than Bama may have actually gotteb breaks from the refs

quote:35 points weren't given up by the defense. Two blown fumbles calls = 14 points for Auburn, pick 6 at end of game = 7 points for Auburn, blocked punt = 7 points for Auburn, 99 kickoff return = 7 points for Auburn
still though.. if you give up 65 points, you should probably just stfu about anything other than how shitty your defense is..
The real culprit here was bad special teams, and I think that in THIS CASE it's fair to put some of those points on the officials. The pick 6 was a product of Tyler Wilson having to force things late in the 4th quarter.
With all that said, would we have beaten Auburn if the game had been officiated by competent refs? Maybe. While our defense didn't play great, I think that our offense played well enough to score more than they would have. However, our special teams were bad enough to make it pretty even.
The fact of the matter is that we lost, but dammit, if we lose, I just want to lose without any shitty calls going against us. This is the second year in a row that we've gotten our shite pushed in by the refs.
Auburn still played a hell of a game though. Newton is really fricking good.

Thank God, there is someone out there who understands.

they gave arkansas 14 points too. Their initial touchdown where the refs called a phantom pass interference in the endzone when our DB didn't even touch the guy. The refs were complete garbage both ways.

Ummm...dude, the PI call was legit. You're DB hooked his arm around the Arky Receiver's waist right in front of the official. That is almost automatic PI. It happened and was called consistently in several games today alone.
The only questionable call I saw for Arky was the spot on one of their plays, but it was still close and not much of an extra cushion.
Auburn, on the other hand, got tons of calls and tons of no calls including the play in question for the PI where your POS Fairly roughed Mallet and hurt him. The ball was gone and Fairley still drove Mallet to the ground after the fact in front of the main official with no call whatsoever.
In the end, the Refs had an extreme effect on the game that greatly and unfairly benefited Auburn.

Auburn revisionism at work: One PI and a disputed spot= 2 touchdowns that CLEARLY were blown calls.
You deserved the win, but some of you are pathetic morons.

While you are at it, other than the PI actually being legit, did you guys notice the horse collar that brought Mallett down that happened just feet in front of Penn Wagers and he did nothing about it?

Arkansas lost by 22. Did the refs give Auburn 23 points?
Go read up on the concept of momentum.

jdevers - That was not a horse collar, not even close.
In regards to the replay booth, yes Auburn got the benefit of the calls. But Arkansas could have avoided it all together if they don't allow Auburn to get to their goal line (the Fannin fumble), and they hold onto the ball until the whistle (the fumble recovery for the TD). Let's face it, both of those calls were in situations set up by Arkansas' own failings. Both calls stood because there was no indisputable evidence.

The PI in the endzone is normally a no call. Could it be called a PI? Yep, his hand was on his back but no more so than on any other pass play that a db plays the receiver close. This lead to a touchdown instead a fieldgoal.
The spot was about a foot to 18" off is what it looked like to me. Looking at the replay, not sure how they missed the spot so bad.
As for the Fannin touchdown, I am shocked that made it through replay. And I'm not sure how the fumble got called a fumble on the field. I have complained about this same scenerio several times when they stop a play that should have been a fumble, it just so happened to work in our favor since no camera angle was very good.
After seeing the last few games across the SEC, the officiating sucks as bad as last year but the replay booth is really bad. They piss away a lot of time and still seem to get a lot of calls wrong.

bullshite PI in the end zone = 7 points for Arky, non-call on a blatant pushoff in the end zone by #15 for Arky = 7 points for Arky, other bullshite blatantly bad calls for automatic first downs and horrifyingly bad spot on 4th down = drive extenders and points for Arky
You need to tell your butthurt piggie friends that the officials WERE extremely bad... and that badness cut both ways.
