Why did Lafell just sit there? He didn't even try to get the guy off of him when you look at the replay. It's like he was acting like Santa. Here's my lap.
I think he was hollering at the ref or something. Can't talk and walk

LSU has a very good kicker. I'd give him a 50/50 chanc
LSU does have a very good kicker, yet on that field from 40 yards or more I would only give him a 25-35% chance of making it.

35% is probably more realistic if it was under 40 yards.. he's freakin strong though. If it were under 40 yards I'd have tons of confidence in him.

If the flag was correct then there should have been offseting penalties for the delay of game.
Reset the clock and Game On!!

Hitt was wrong.
As was the PSU player. I think that's called off-setting penalties at worst

It happens all the time. It happens on fumbles when players are trying to get into the pile. And, it happens on plays like this one.
Have you ever seen that called a personal foul?
Wow. A pile is more than 1 person and yes.

Should have been offsetting penalties with time added onto the clock.

Bottom line:
LSU lost because of the way we played the entire game, not because of this one call. The same could be said for each game this season.
We played every game close. We played up to better competition and down to worse competition. We had absolutely no consistency on offense all year long.
We had a chance to win every game we played in this season, with the possible exception of the Florida game when we were just impotent on offense.
But we failed to operate the offense consistently, and most of our games were close. Some we won, some we lost. We had some controversial calls. Some went our way. Some didn't. We had some botched coaching jobs at the end of games, but if you play every game that way, the chances of this happening go up dramatically.
We deserved what we got, and it was a fitting ending to the season.
It was a bad call, but it didn't cost us the game. We cost us the game. Penn State shouldn't have even been on the field with us. If we had played consistently on offense, we blow them away.

And so Lyle picked him up, tried to help him up off the ground.
Please. If he was trying to help him up, how come he just pulled him off the pile and flung him to the side. PSU player was still on the ground. If Lyle was so interested in helping him up, why let him on the ground again?
Call was correct

anyone saying the call was correct is an absolute moron. Your hatred for LSU is blinding you.
At the very least it should have been off setting penalties. Hitt was forced to do the referees job by pulling a player up who is delaying the game.
Do you see flags thrown when players pull on eachother in a fumble pile up?
It was a fitting end to this season.

LSU players need to control themselves.

what would the board be saying if the PSU player was allowed to lay on Lafell with no penalty being called?
Everyone would be wondering why no LSU player tried to rip the PSU guy off of the ball/carrier.

LSU players need to want to keep themselves out of sucky situations like that.

Exactly. Even a Bama poster admitted this earlier in the thread.

Right again.

That it was.
And to add yet one more time...the penalty didn't cost LSU the game. Piss poor coaching for the most part cost LSU the game.

The ref didn't have a chance to call it on PSU.
Even the announcers said something to the effect of "why haven't the ref's thrown a flag yet?" then Hitt pulled him off the pile.

Forced? Give me a break. It is commonplace for defenders to get up VERY VERY slowly when time is running down. Defenders or even the O do not have to rush. You do not see penalties on such plays.

There was a fumble? Who recovered?
