Everyone in the country thought Miami would destroy Alabama in the 92 Sugar Bowl.
Same thing will happen, if we play Texas.
the kicker is Texas will be in the 92 Alabama role.
Not sure what the OP is smoking, but UF/UA will be favored over Texas by 3-7, just a guess. I would think the SEC team would win, but like the man says, that's why they play the games.

You probably didn't notice the "mighty" Big12 South's bowl record last year.

I think the SEC wins both matchups, think it is a closer game if they play bama. I see florida winning this weekend though.

You all do realize that Texas could loose to Nebraska?
You all do realize that the SECCG is going to be a close one or a runnaway? And if so, not in Gumpies favor!
Consequently, this may be: Stultior stulto fuisti, qui tabellis crederes! = Idiot of idiots, to trust what is written! Tum podem extulit horridulum = You are talking shite.

Texas and Arkansas had a common opponent this year, Texas A&M. Arkansas buttraped A&M. Texas scraped out a close win in the 4th quarter.
Florida/Bama >>>>>>> Texas.
Florida/Bama >>>>>>> Texas.

The SEC is not nearly as strong this year as it has been in past years - still the best conference in cfb, but by default.
I would not say UF/UAT > UT this year simply for the first 2 being SEC teams.
Bottom line is all 3 teams have looked very pedestrian at some point this year. Either matchup would be very close imo, and I'd actually give Texas the slight edge, simply for their offensive potential. While UT's defense is not as strong, they wouldn't need to be given the opposing offense they'll face

If Arkansas plays the A&M team that showed up to play Texas, Arky might have been the team scraping it out in the 4th quarter, if not getting straight up beat.
Bad example.

wut? Arkansas has the worst defense in the SEC and we controlled Texas A&M the whole game, except for one blown coverage.
We're talking about the best team in the B12 vs the worst defense in the SEC.
I don't how this is a bad example of the differences between the SEC and B12.
Bad logic. If... If... If...

I think he means taking a single common opponent and making absolute comparisons if illogical. Anything can happen in a given game - I didn't see the A&M/Ark game, but maybe A&M played their worst game of the year? I watched them play UT, and I guarantee you that team played a hell of a lot better than they did against y'all, or y'all would've gotten smoked.
Point is, you need several common opponents to make a fair estimate as to what would happen. For example, Bama and Florida have 6 common SEC opponents, so it is much more accurate to use those common games to judge what will happen. (though I think the results were pretty even)

I think Bama matches up well with UF and might with that game but i think UF matches up better with Texas as I think Texas will beat Bama.

Yes, this.

Don't think so. How many UF wins over quality teams were dominant?
I go with McCoy and the Horns.

I don't know who would win between Texas and UF or Bama but anyone suggesting it would be a blowout one way or the other is crazy.
I saw Texas get played close by an A&M team they should have slaughtered.
I saw Bama get a miracle FG block to hang on against a tragically mediocre Tenn team.
I saw UF need the worst referee screw-job in football history to beat an Arkansas team that is far from elite.
Personally, I think McCoy can do more in crunch time that any player Bama of UF has but we will see.......
One thing I do know for sure is that Nebraska's craptastic offense renders it helpless on Saturday against the Horns.

The best team Texas has faced all year is Oklahoma. Oklahoma has 4 losses.
Other than Virginia Tech and LSU, Alabama hasn't beatin anyone worth a damn this year.

Anyone who discounts Texas in this game does not know Texas. And if Texas does face Bama you have 2 coaches on the Texas staff who have been on the sidelines with Saban. Muschamp and Major Apple White. That's 2 coaches who have been Saban's OC and DC.
I like Texas over Bama. But I think Florida would take Texas.

Fine, but their also clearly weaker this year as a conference all together than they have been in the last few years.
Its not Texas' fault, they did all they could do but they didn't have to run through a gauntlet.
Still I don't think it will be a blowout either way. But I'd favor either SEC team. You have to keep Texas from getting yards after the catch and I think Florida or Alabama would be able to hold them down in that department.

The exact same could be said for either Bama or Florida

Meh, I figured someone would say that but Alabama or Florida's competition was still tougher than Texas though and after Saturday there's no comparison.
