If you want to go to the end of the road, a visit to cape flattery is well worth the effort

I highly suggest going there.

Lots of fishermen will be in Neah Bay, OP go down to the end of C dock where the fish cleaning station is at and watch.

You never know, you might see me cutting up fish.
Just so I understand fully.

Your drive up the coast will be the Washington state coastline and not in Oregon?

The father won’t say and the brother will never admit to it unless it’s on his deathbed.

couple of days in Yachats

On your way south from Cannon Beach shortly before you arrive to Manzanita there are several lookout points. The last one, Neahkahnie south viewpoint, has an amazing view looking down on the beach there in Manzanita. I always stop there.

Is this too much driving for a 6 day trip?

No, you’ll be running and gunning for 2/3 days but it’ll be worth it to take that much in.

Any tips would be appreciated

If you decide go to Mt. Hood (Timberline), check the live cams to see if it’s clear, and going to Multnomah falls do a loop from highway 26/35/I84. If it isn’t clear it’s not exactly worth going. If it is clear you have a hell of a view looking south.

Before going North on 35 continue on 26 to go to Trillium lake for a breathtaking view of Hood mirrored in the lake. If it’s a weekend they have someone at the highway entrance taking money because everyone stops but no one wants to pay 5 bucks to park for a few minutes of looking.

Head back to 35 north and it’s a pretty drive and the view of Mt. Adam’s is very nice.

Get lunch in Hood River. Lots of good places. I usually go to Double Mountain brewery and get pizza.

Ferment brewing has good pub food and the best view of all the breweries in town.

Pfriem probably has the best overall beers but I love the sour reserves at Double Mountain so that’s why I end up there most of the time.

If beer is your thing and you like sours stop at de Garde in Tillamook. It’s world class. Of course, after you stop at the Tillamook cheese factory and get ice cream and cheese curds. You can only buy their curds at the creamery so I always stop for some.

If you do like craft beer I have more recs so let me know.

The restaurants in Cannon Beach are mostly breweries

No, not true at all. There’s more restaurants than you think.

Not to be technical but there’s only 1 brewery in Cannon Beach and that’s Public coast. Pelican is a brewpub as their beer is brewed in Pacific city.

The most interesting beer spot there is Cannon Beach Hardware and Public House. It’s a taproom and restaurant inside a working hardware/home goods store.

Definitely stop there OP since you haven’t been.

What's your EDC wallet that you have no intention of replacing any time soon?

Front pocket wallet. I’ve had it 10 years. I used to have an alligator skin front pocket wallet I owned for 11 years but I lost it in a boating incident.

I miss my old one.

Cormorant?? I thought that was some sorta goose?

Regardless of what it is. They crush on outgoing smolts which is the future runs of salmon.

Leave it. Cormorants destroy the salmon runs.

Salmon are more important California.
