quote:

Since it is clear from your public comments that you believe this letter “mean(s) nothing”, let me be equally as clear to you. The next time you, or a member of your staff, make public comments of this nature, you will be suspended from all coaching duties for one or more games, and the institution may be subjected to a substantial fine. I also remind you that this is your second public reprimand in your brief tenure as Tennessee’s Head Football Coach and on both occasions you were wrong about the applicable rules.

Sincerely,

Michael Slive

Owned.

Slive is still a greedy little prick though. He will score 100 negative points in a few days to offset the 5 positive ones he earned with this letter to Special K.

Stick that in your pipe, and have a smoke. Though I disagree with the "punish them all including the innocents", this is still enjoyable to read. Thanks for the link.

That was my favorite part.

Nice find.....

Love this part:

It is your responsibility as a coach to comply with the policies of the Southeastern Conference and to know the football playing rules.

i have been vocal all along in more than one post that this would happen. you don't flaunt the rules and slap the commissioner in the face and get away with it. this isn't some classroom situation we're dealing with; the SEC is a huge and highly profitable collection of huge and highly profitable football schools. they cannot afford for someone to take them on publically and make a mockery of our officials and of our league. make no mistake about it, Lane Kiffin is in trouble and he is a marked man. If he doesn't shut up, i fully expect him to be made an example of and in a dramatic fashion. Power is easy to spot and Lane Kiffin has none; he is bound by contract with a morals clause and UT is also bound by conference affiliation and agreement (also contractual). The officials at UT are not dummies; they'll can Kiffins arrogant arse in a heartbeat. They don't want to anger fans, but they will. They, and their conference affiliation (a highly profitable arrangement), is much, much stronger than one coach.
