Nashville with the "Athens of the South" Parthenon reference on the map.

At least that's what it looks like.
He better be on his break when he's BSing at dock door 122.

re: Rickey Henderson dead at 65

I'm sad. 65 is far too young.

It was cool to see him at a Sounds game a few seasons ago as the opposing team first base coach.

He got a loud cheer when they announced him.

Godspeed Mr. Henderson.

“If my uniform doesn’t get dirty, I haven’t done anything in a baseball game.”
Alli Walker

She was the intermission act that night. I think she just got caught up in the moment at the completion of her last set. This is not the first time someone has done this at a Preds game. Titans players did this years ago also.

That catfish was used during pregame as well and I guess sat in a cooler on the band stage for at least 1.5 hours before she did this.

I hope it was in a cooler anyway.
I've seen trashed people at 12:00 noon on the weekends in DT Nashville.

When people come to town, they come to party and have a good time.

Many drink too much, too soon and many don't.

And yes, Lower Broad is crowded on the weekends. Especially when the weather starts to warm up. 1000's of people to the point that the street is closed and turned into a massive sidewalk.

The bar at Bourbon Steak doesn't require a reservation. First come. First serve. Full menu as well.

If you don't want to eat you you could still just enjoy a drink or two. Opens at 5:00.

I think Skull's has a $20 per person cover for the burlesque nights. The covers start at 9:00 and the actual show doesn't start until 11:00.

Skull's is a small venue so expect to be cozy if you don't have a reservation in the front dining area.

The bar area and standing room along the wall entrance will be full of people. Of note, the booths along the back side wall don't offer good views of the show.

Since you're already going to Bourbon Steak, the bar area has nice views of the city. If the weather is nice, they will open the glass sliding doors.

Another rooftop bar with good city views is Lou|Na on the 25th floor of the Grand Hyatt. Just take the right rear elevator from the lobby elevator bank. The Grand Hyatt is located a few blocks down Broadway across from the Union Station Hotel. It's a walkable distance IMO from the lower Broad bars. That bar opens at 3:00.

re: Tennessee, what are y'all doing?

How many people pick up a cold beer at the store and before they get home are so drunk they're a danger to society?

Wouldn't they already be pretty much wasted before they even bought that cold beer.

I could also see this working in DT Nashville:

quote:

He said the idea would be to place a cap on how much a patron could drink to two mixed drinks, two glasses of wine, or up to three beers. If anyone wanted to drink more, they w patrons would need to have a designated driver or means to alternative transportation from restaurant, bar or other venue.
I loved watching the Steelers beat the Oilers back in the day.

Old Forester and Woodford Reserve are Brown-Forman Corporation products like JD is. JD is by far the biggest obviously.

The people who work at the distillery in Lynchburg aren't the ones calling these shots.

None of the people who place these policies on commercial items of any kind have ever made anything on their own.

They just use existing products and latch their ideology on them.

If they didn't do that, they'd never be heard because their home grown stuff would never get off the ground. It just wouldn't sell.

For the record I drink JD SBBP and OF 1910. A lot.
I'm going to the Preds/Knights game tonight but I'm assuming all of the best drugs.

The NHL is going to f*ck around. Then they're going to find out.
I never cared for his big hit song myself. I was listening to him before that came out and was probably jaded back then with the commercial stuff.

I liked It Takes A Thief, I Remember and Mama I'm In Luv Wit A Gangsta. I'm sure there's a few more if I heard them again.
Is that tweet from 11/3/21?

Nashville is open as can be as far as I know nowadays. Not sure about Vandy though.

Certain groups and spaces were on vaccine kicks about that time last year.

So now Outkick talks about hockey.

The Preds used to put ads on during TV timeouts to get the jab during the shortened 20/21 season.

Vanderbilt Health and country artists were begging for everyone to get pfizered.

All food items have been or will be doing this.

Check the ounces on what you buy now and compare them to what you see in the coming weeks/months.

re: Dark Horse Podcast: Vitamin D

Sardines have a lot of Vitamin D along with other healthy minerals and protein. Check the label next time you're in the grocery store.

Find a style and brand you like and go from there. They're a good Vit D alternative during the winter when we don't have available sun light.
