UGA looks pretty good. Several teams at the top
Miss St did well against LSU to keep up there.

Our schedule is favorable the rest of the way. Two home series against struggling LSU and Missouri then Auburn on the road. If we don't screw it up, we could get 20 conference wins for the first time since 2019.

it's honestly a bit shocking that we have led the league almost all year considering we have such mediocre starting pitching. We have 1 guy that's a legit not-a-problem starter. We had a 2nd but he's been injured the last several weeks. Our opening weekend Sunday guy stunk and was removed from the rotation. We're basically just assembling a weekend rotation with chewing gum and a prayer but it somehow has worked out.
My fear is that whenever we get to tournament play (any tournament) that will be exposed real quick. That's a worry for another day though.

Our draw in regional play is going to determine a lot for us, unfortunately. Would like to one day be at a point with this program when we can confidently take on all comers but the state of our pitching depth just doesn’t really allow for that. Good news is our lineup is just fricking hell on wheels; what they’ve done on the road does not get enough attention and Dan Jackson isn’t getting the publicity he deserves for the season he is having as a fricking catcher.

Thanks for doing this thread week in and week out. It is very helpful.

frick’s wrong with LSU?
They might finish behind Mizzou.

Jackson has been amazing, and I've been really impressed with Rylan Lujo. He seems to come up with a hit everytime we need it.
Vigue should be back on the mound soon. I was happy with the way Aoki pitched Sunday after getting hammered Saturday.

Lot of similarities between UGA and A&M. Both can mash the hell out of the ball. Both have suspect pitching. The fate of each one will be determined by Regional matchups
A&M has a way, way harder schedule these last three weekends. UGA is going to win the SEC and should be commended for a great year.

Timely hitting and we have the best fielding percentage in conference play. I do agree that pitching will be our Achilles heel in the postseason

The remaining schedule for Ga. is much easier than the ones for other schools I’ve seen. Aggies, Auburn, Oklahoma, Miss. St. are very challenging.
That’s what you get though when playing baseball in this conference. I believe that the most competitive sport in the SEC is baseball. What other sport does Ole Miss, Miss. St., Vandy, S. Carolina win National titles? You add those schools into the TOP level with the others…man, almost everyone can field nationally ranked teams.

I don’t see how State and OM play tonight unless it’s pushed way back.

Pretty sure it's not happening.

Man, we deserve to finally catch a break in the schedule. Beat A&M head to head, beat ole Miss and swept MSU, all on the road. Ags just catching up. Whoever ends up winning the conference will have earned it, that’s for sure.

Dawgs up 2-0 on Troy through 2
Posted on 4/28/26 at 4:17 pm to tylerdurden24
11-0 Dawgs in the 6th
Dan Jackson has 2 HRs and 5 RBI
Brings his season total to 23 HR and 21 SB. A 25/25 season is well within range with an outside shot at becoming only the second player ever to hit 30/30 (JD Drew is the only one to ever do it)
