Mel Kiper's Draft-Day Notebook

• Two of the hottest names coming out of my calls around the league: Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood (appears to be a solid first-rounder now) and Texas A&M guard Chase Bisontis (could sneak in late in Round 1).

• Among the hottest Day 3 sleepers? Remember these names Saturday: Texas A&M defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim, Georgia Tech defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg and UConn receiver Skyler Bell.

When did they start drafting RBs in the top 10 again?

Hmmm

He had a great season and deserve the accolades, but a lot of it was great coaching and system. I do not know if he has the physical tools to be a great NFL QB, especially in the #1 spot behind the Raiders OL.

I'll be shocked if the Chiefs pick a safety at 9. They have told PM that they are committing to building a better run game. I doubt PM plays the 1st 4 games of the season. They also still need a WR1.

If the Dolphins snag the OT from Da U, I'll be happy. But, if you know anything about the Miami franchise, you know we'll frick it up.

Love would go #1 if he wasn’t a RB. The best player in the draft

He had a great season the year before with Cal. He is not a system quarterback at all.

I know they need a WR but that is a reach especially if a talent like Caleb Downs is available.

Only 7 first round SEC picks is very telling.

The NIL is destroying SEC rosters.

There was a time Alabama, LSU, and Georgia were putting 9-10 in alone.

A lot of dudes already on SEC rosters used their position to get paid and quit caring about football.

Really wish Proctor would fall to 28, but given how unlikely that is, Lance Z has the Texans trading back out of the 1st round. And, of all the analysts, he's the most plugged in around here.

Coaching has never been at more of a premium.

idk but it seems insane for me. Love is really good, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't come across as a Barkley, McCaffrey, Henry(who wasn't picked in the 1st) etc etc

I thought that Jenty being picked so high was ridiculous too.
