Some NFL teams strongly against drafting GA/MIA QB Carson Beck: "this guy is a villain"

He’s a polarizing prospect despite being one of the most experienced QBs available.
Quarterback Carson Beck has had quite a ride in his college football career. He was a backup at Georgia en route to two national titles in that role, a two-year starter who went 24-3 for the Bulldogs, and nearly led the Miami Hurricanes to their first national title in decades just three months ago. But as the NFL Draft nears, he doesn’t seem to be getting a ton of love from teams.
According to NFL insider Albert Breer, a number of NFL coaches and executives are not particularly high on Beck in large part due to a perceived personality problem. One coach of an AFC team described him as “a villain.”
“I follow college football loosely; there’s this sense that this guy is a villain. I don’t know where that comes from. Maybe it was leaving Georgia,” the coach told Breer.
Another coach flatly said he wouldn’t touch Beck due to his personality.
“He’s talented enough, smooth, on time, sees it well, he’s smart—probably the smartest kid in the class,” the NFC coach said. “But the personality is tough. I wouldn’t touch him.”
Another NFC coach went so far as to call Beck “the least talented player on the most talented team in the country” during his playing career. That coach described Beck as “an average athlete” who was average all-around and inconsistent with his decision-making.

Wasn’t the real allegation that he was into drugs at one point?

Decision making could be a problem, but i don't see him as some villain. He was not a good fit at Georgia. But QBs are notorious to be a bit prima donna-ish. Strong personalities.
Seems odd that one said he had all the tools but his detraction came from his personality? I mean, these guys thought Ryan Leaf, Jeff George, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens were great. Granted some were, but if personality were the worst trait, then I don't see that being totally off putting. There has to be something more.
I have heard whispers about his personality, for sure, but I doubt with all of the strong personalities in the NFL it doesn't seem like that would be the big drawback. has to be more to it than that.

It would be unpossible that coaches and GM's are leaking their disdain for him so they can get him lower in the draft.

So he’s ugly as shite and has a bad personality? I usually like to at least compliment certain girls on their personality.

He's never been in trouble. Had a fast car, but never caught speeding with it. He waited his turn like a good boy behind Stetson Bennett when he could have transferred. The only reason he did transfer for his last year, after two years as the starter is because his elbow was fricked up and couldn't be guaranteed to start in his last year, which would have destroyed his draft stock. Miami was willing to take a chance on the elbow and offered him a shite load of money. Pretty easy decision.

I'm not sure what the upside on the guy is considering his propensity for throwing horrific game losing interceptions.

As long as he doesn't choke his girlfriend or kneel for the national anthem I don't have a problem with him

Your post is the only time I have seen that allegation made.

Vs Diego Pavia? I’d take Beck.

This is true legally speaking, but his ex did post some pretty egregious speeding tic toks if memory serves.
He never seemed to me like a bad guy, but I could see how the way he carries himself could be a major problem for teams looking to draft a QB, who ideally would be the face of a franchise. He doesn’t have that kind of edge.
