Football question- who's your feeder schools?

Given the NIL and portal, there's more priority on a good transfer player than a good (not great) high school recruit.
A kid will get better if he's able to play early and develop, instead of riding the bench a couple years. Hence, he's better off going to a smaller school (say a Sun Belt team) and playing, then transferring to a P4 program to finish.
This seems to be the case across sports. Indiana won in football. A couple years ago they hired their coach from JMU. He brought 13 transfers from JMU... they knew his system, he knew them. There were 6-7 that played this past season in the playoffs. So you could say JMU fed Indiana.
Let's look at the SEC and surrounding teams. Where are schools you'd want to shunt your prospects, be your "minor league system"?
I could see LSU doing that with ULL, it's happened some already.

Well, right now, for Arkansas its Memphis. Considering they whooped us last year that might not be a bad thing.

USF, baby!
I do miss the 90s when Dillard in Ft Laurderdale was sending their studs to AU.

Missouri is our feeder school. We get whatever players and coaches we want from them.

I know one thing
Alabama and Ohio State aren’t really feeder schools as much as symbiotes

UGA doesn't use the portal a whole lot, but not out of some philosophy against it. Kirby says we recruit well enough out of high school and develop players well, we only go to the portal for immediate areas of need or to replace our own guys that go into the portal. As long as we keep that mentality, we aren't going to have a "feeder school" other than all the high schools in Georgia.

Keep telling yourself that, and one day you might believe it, alter boy.

What I've seen of the portal- it's like crack. Once you partake, you become dependent, and can't get off it easily.
The guy you bring in will be better than your freshman, so he plays. But he's good for 1-2 years at most; and because your freshmen don't get on the field, they bolt into the portal for playing time. So you then have to hit the portal, to replace your portal guys.
I watched LSU, they're still cycling O Linemen this way. Secondary, a position LSU was noted for producing, we're still digging deep into the portal. At least 1 starting corner came from the portal every year since Kelly started, this year might be the first one with homegrown guys. Of course we're still bringing in safeties to start.
Georgia's avoided this because y'all were stocked and deep when the portal really kicked in, and making runs at titles so you didn't lose a ton of young guys. They could reasonably anticipate their time was "next year".

New Mexico State. Pavia, Stowers and half our coaching staff came from there.

Everyone is a potential feeder school to Ohio State. Coach lets the other guys take all the risks and if a player proves himself.
