How are guys feeling?

I think one of Alabama, Arky, or Texas wins.

UT does not have a chance. If I am chosing one of those 3 then Ark would be it for me

Well everyone is telling us we're going to get our faces kicked in so hopefully Michigan takes us for granted and we play aggressive, focused and confident

I think we have a shot. Will take another great shooting performance from three. And hopefully they have an off night. The metrics favor them heavily.

We lost to some really good teams early on. But we had some injuries and were breaking in some new players, we couldnt put lineups on the court consistently.

I think they get our best shot. Is it enough? We'll see. Being on the court with the teams we've played, we won't see anything we haven't already.having played the nations toughest schedule. They even played in that building before, taking down Illinois there. Some of the arrogant Michigan fans were thinking it was an advantage that they'd played there before. Idiots.

Not one expert is even discussing our game. It gets tossed aside. I sort of love it.

Also, we are averaging 16 3's per game over our last 4 tourney games including the Duke debacle. That's really good, like best ever good over a four game stretch. 4 games is decent sample size. I'll take 20! Let's go!

we're the biggest underdog in S16 with michigan favored by 8.5 so hopefully the team will have a chip on their shoulders

So glad our game is not until Friday. I want to watch others suffer before we step into the ring.

I know it's a very small sample size but the team may be better without Holloway than they were with him. They play harder on defense and hit the boards more for sure, and there are still plenty of scorers on the floor. Not saying we beat Michigan, I think that will take a nearly perfect game, but I feel better about it than I did a week ago.

Perimeter defense has improved immensely but if Wrightsell reverts to mean with his shooting we’re going to wish we had him.

Reality is this is when our lack of size in the paint is going to start to be felt and to be blunt we’ve been fortunate in our matchups so far. Bediako would be huge dealing with Mara.

Not to say we can’t win but Michigan is the best team in the tournament IMO and it’ll take an all time night to win.

Oh, agreed. We're going to have to be on fire from beyond the arc, and both Sherrell and Williamson (ha ha ha) are going to have to have the games of their lives.

How the Refs call this game plays a factor. I’ve not watched Michigan play this year but I figured they have good size and are physical in the paint and probably aggressive on defense. How aggressive the Refs allow the game to be could favor Michigan, idk tho we’ll see.

I would assume they will try and contest Bama’s strength shooting outside. If I remember right they do have a monster as a center over 7ft I believe. Probably will be a challenge driving the lane against him.

Oats demeanor seems a little different to me in this tournament especially after beating TT at the post game press conference. Looks more comfortable and relaxed. Made the point how they was zeroed in and got lost in just playing the game and not worrying about making mistakes and playing unselfish. Seems to feel good on how they’re playing right now. I believe Nate has done great job as far as the team not putting pressure on themselves to win. Just fine that line on the race track and haul arse.

We'll have to hit a high percentage of 3s , play a respectable amount of defense, and just not go on one of those 5 minute dry spells.
The matchup isn't ideal, but there is a path to win.
Plus, we have already played a game this season in this arena, whereas Michigan has not. So maybe that's just a bit of help, too.

I do want to ask this board.... Where would a Michigan win Friday rank in all time Alabama wins? We have beaten 1 seeds before, and we have won other Sweet 16 (and one more Elite 8) games before..
Personally, I'd probably currently rank our all time wins as the one over #1 UNC, then the Clemson win to make the Final Four, then the Syracuse win to make the Elite 8 decades ago, then the win that same year over #1 seed Stanford.

We beat #1 UCLA back in the early 80s, I remember. Not the tournament, but still. At their place, also.

ETA: Think we had a huge win against Arizona in the tournament in the late 80s/early 90s to get to the Sweet 16. Seem to think they were a 1 seed as well, but can't remember that far back.

We didn’t beat Stanford in 04. They went on to win the championship.

I think I watched us lose to Mich who went on to win it all. I also remember working with an older Indiana guy that had a poster of their team when they won it all, that we should have beaten.

The Indiana game, i think had a basketball coach that went to KY from AL.
The loss to michigan i think was in Atl with Wimp as the coach and Newton was the coach that lost to Indiana. I could be mistaken.

I may need help with run on sentences.
