If the Pear returns to LSU, he will find the league even tougher than when he left. While an upgrade over McMahon, he will still be looking up at:

Todd Golden
John Calipari
Nate Oats
Rick Barnes
Sean Miller
Chris Beard

At best he will be middle of the pack. And LSU is willing to take out another mortgage to get him.

I mean they hired a football coach with fewer accolades than half the leagues coaches. That stuff doesnt matter to them

You were born 100 years too late and missed LSU’s era of dominance from 1900-1920. No LSU fan alive today though will ever see LSU hold the series lead over Alabama in football or basketball. That has to be a depressing reality. At least the Pear would make LSU more entertaining.

Mark Byington is also a much better coach. Bucky is probably better as well

You being a Bammer, none of this matters as long as you make the NCAAT, which he did and can definitely do consistently at LSU

Rick Barnes and Cal are on the way out

Future of the conference will be Golden, Oats (if he doesn't go to UNC), Wade, Byington, and maybe Pope if he figures things out.
