Women’s Bracket (S16)

The SEC WBB have 6 teams in the sweet 16 in 2026. Unfortunately 4 of the 6 teams play a conference opponent this weekend so only 4 teams can possibly make the final 8.

FRIDAY
(2)Vanderbilt (-5.5) plays (6)Notre Dame
(2)LSU (-8.5) plays (3)Duke

SATURDAY
(1)S Carolina (-16.5) plays (4)OK
(1)Texas (-14.5) plays (5)Kentucky

If all the favorites win (chalk), the SEC will have 50% of the Final 8. Vandy gets UConn, LSU gets UCLA, SC gets TCU & Texas gets Michigan in the final 8. Although highly unlikely, it is possible to have all 4 Final 4 teams from the SEC. That would be epic!

Men’s Bracket S16

On the men’s side, there are 4 SEC teams still playing. Based on the bracketology, the SEC can only get 2 teams into the Final 8.

THURSDAY
(1) Arizona (-7.5) plays (4) Arkansas
(2) Purdue (-7.5) plays (11) Texas

FRIDAY
(1) Michigan (-10.5) plays (4) Alabama
(2) Iowa St (-4.5) plays (6) Tennessee

If all 4 underdog SEC teams win, Arkansas & Texas would play, and Bama & Tenn would play in the Final 8. So only 2 SEC teams could potentially make the Final 4. The men’s team have a much tougher road to advance than the ladies. Should be a fun and entertaining weekend of NCAA hoops!

It will be a surprise if any SEC teams end up in the men’s final 4.

True, and the way most favorites win, it will be a surprise if any SEC men’s team can even make the final 8. But you never know….

11 seed Texas is only a 7.5 dog to second seed Purdue?

On the men's side it would be a huge surprise if any of the teams advance to the round of eight.

Hey, I’m personally so surprised at where Texas is that I’ve decided to suspend disbelief.

Wait and see, we got this.

The only win I wouldn't be surprised by is if Tennessee beats Iowa State. Iowa State was a monster at home but only .500 on the road. They played some tough road matchups, but still thats the only one where I wouldn't be completely surprised if it happened.

Michigan is a really bad matchup for Bama. I'd be stunned if they pulled that one off.

Thankfully we have the weight of aggy bogging Purdue down. We would get smoked otherwise.

I think 3 SEC teams make the final 4 on the womens side. LSU/SC/Texas.

Vandy just doesnt have the horses to roll with UConn. The SEC was really strong this year, especially at the top 4

Wasn’t UF the last SEC team where men’s and women’s BB won the same year?

Has it been done prior?

Texas Baseball & Football 2005

Florida Basketball & Football 2006

I think those are the only two I know of, but there may be others..
