State Series and Townsend Update

On Townsend, sounds 50/50 on if we see him Saturday or not. This quote is from yesterday (Sunday).
I think State is the best team in the country. Top 5 for sure. They don't have many weaknesses.
If we could hold serve by going 2-1 this weekend that would put us exactly where we want to be and on track to host.
But honestly I just want to avoid a sweep. Going 0 for 3 in Swayze could really be a setback. But I genuinely believe State is that much better than we are.
Somewhere along the way we have to win a couple of road series or sweep someone at home. Who?
The three worst teams in the conference are Missouri, Vandy, and South Carolina. And of course we don't play any of them this year.
LSU is struggling. Alabama isn't great. Georgia isn't great. But everyone else is at least as good as we are, or better.
It's a tough row.

I think Texas is better and Auburn is looking pretty damn good as well. Arkansas is up there where they always are. Kentucky is also very good. Getting that series win was HUGE. LSU fell off a cliff, so that's good.

LSU baseball is about to go the way of our baseball program. Decent enough to make the tournament but the vast majority of resources are going to go to football and basketball

This is really our best hope.
So their #1 guy is out. And we always have a chance with Elliott on the hill. So that gives us a good shot at winning Game One.
After that, assuming our #2 guy is out, it's basically a tossup.
If we have Townsend it gives us a theoretical edge in the last two games. I like our #3 guy against their #4 guy in a transitive property sort of way.
Front coming through Fri night. The wind will be blowing in strong for the Sat and Sun games, which hurts our style of winning games by hitting 3 run homers. We are gonne have to be patient and play small ball Sat and Sun and hope our pitchers throw gems

Second best pitcher and I've said that before the injury. Valincius has looked much better imo. But your point stands, McPherson would be a massive hit to our rotation. Hopefully it's just a forearm strain and not something bigger.

I like their cheese. Haven't been there in a minute, but would buy the jalapeno spread without a second thought. That guy is also exempt

Their cheese is ok. I have some in-laws in Vermont I visit from time to time. That’s some damned fine cheese at the cheese shop up there.

I don't know guy, their jalapeno spread made me a believer in their ag program. I have yet to try their ice cream though. It sounds good
