2027 &2028 UA vs OSU

I say 5 to 1 that game never sees the light.
I wanted that to happen so bad but the world is in $ turmoil.

It’s all gotten so screwy. We literally gave up a home game for NIL reasons.

Why? Neither team has another P4 OOC scheduled that season.

Bama will probably want to cancel that game for several reasons. And I would agree with that decision.

Alabama also has an away game with Oklahoma St.

Hopefully that's what they cancel.

it's ashame schedules have become watered down so teams can make the playoffs
should go back to the covid season and play more power conference schedules only and expand playoffs
I'm fine with a 10 game regular season, allows you to keep the conf champ game with expanded playoffs

Why would Arkansas cancel a game against The Ohio State they cheated us out of a Sugar Bowl and deserve a pounding

Unfortunately its probably for the best to cancel those games. There's just no reason to take on the risk of any early season loss like that when almost no one else is playing those types of games. Maybe we'll still meet in the playoffs those years instead.

It sucks because even though these big time out of conference games are a lot of fun, the loser basically has to make it through an entire big ten or sec schedule with only one loss to make the playoffs so its just not worth the risk.

For an AD to choose to cut a home game, the revenue it generates for the entire city and surrounding areas all for the sake of NIL is ridiculous.

Bingo, and we may repair the favor to osu this year giving you one mulligan if we beat you and must finish 10-2.

I blame the committee and it clearly defining what’s valued with actual metrics or data. Just saying “here’s what we look at” is bs and clearly unweighted or not truly valued based on their previous playoffs

I think it completely depends on how many teams are in the playoff in 27/28. If we are at 16+ I think it can get played as teams with 3 losses will get in annually

And back in the day it would be the only way an ISU and Alabama would likely play. With the stupid playoffs…out of conference games v other good teams will happen automatically. I prefer mythical national champ and fun bowl games with a big regular season non conference matchup from time to time. But that horse is dead.
