NEWS: Charles Bediako's legal team has filed an appeal with the Alabama State Supreme Court, seeking a reversal of the decision made earlier this month in a Tuscaloosa Circuit Court that denied him a preliminary injunction against the NCAA.

Bediako is seeking interim injunctive relief while the appeal is pending, which would allow him to play while the appeal is pending.

Oats saw how we looked when Sherrell fouled out and had to make another go of it.

Honestly need Chuck for quality minutes while Sherrill is out. Is what it is.

Why? Either he plays and he’s a clear upgrade over Noah or they just say no again.

I don’t see this as a downside at all for Bama. Like Boz mentioned, if he wins he would be the best option for minutes when Sherrell ends up in foul trouble. London and TBB aren’t big enough and well Noah is Noah at this point. I’m not going to beat up that dude any more. I’m sure he’s doing the best he can.

Maybe I’m naive on this… I think extending this out further puts more exposure on this issue. Even if he loses again, it could hopefully be the spark that ends pros in college basketball, g-league or euro. Isn’t that what the majority of college basketball fans want?

Someone has to push the limit on this. No one is going to get off their arse and volunteer to fix it in congress.

It only works if Oats treats Bediako as a true backup to Sherrell. He wasn’t using Chuck right his first go around

Agreed. No need to play them together ever and Chuck should really only get equal or more minutes if Sherrell ends up with 2 quick fouls. Love Chuck, but Sherrell is more of the 2 way big you want to give most of the minutes to. It felt like it started to click for him late last season and he has really improved as a second year guy. We should write him a big check. If a similar jump happens next year he'll be one of the most dominant bigs in the country.

Absolutely not! As long as the “Gestapo bastards” allow international pros even up to middle/ late 20’s to enroll as freshmen, this needs to go to the Supreme Court. Only thing those bastards respond to is a lawsuit.

Exactly right. Congress is more dysfunctional than the NCAA. Only lawsuits influence the NCAA. Keep the heat on. Give players 5 years to play 4 starting at age 18.

Alabama has released a statement regarding Charles Bediako’s appeal:

"We understand that Charles is pursuing an appeal in his case against the NCAA, and ultimately, he must do what he considers to be in his best interest. The University continues to support Charles as he works toward completing his degree."

Bediako as relief for Sherrell could be the missing piece for a legitimate title contender. I don't know how 'Bama makes a run with an inconsistent TBB and the foul sponge that is Williamson.

We aren’t getting Chuck back fellas, just need to figure it out with what we’ve got. Probably a S16, maybe lucky draw E8 ceiling

Who could know that? The law is all political. It’s not something with transcendent truth. Just depends on the political will to enable it.

Is there any chance we get Chuck back for the tourney?

The melts would be incredible.

I actually think he has a chance. This has stepped up the court notch and this is a highly visible and political issue. Not to mention there are other players in the NCAA that are playing that are exactly like Chuck so they need to pick which side of the fence they’re going to be on.

I simply can';t understand why they are former pros who played in these Euro leagues and that is OK but Bediako is not...Auburn has one and Ole Miss had one and there are a bunch of others....There doesn't seem to be any rules any more so why can't Chuck play? Why is one OK and the other is not regardless of whatever else you may think about it?

Soft arse statement. No one in our administration aside from Oats has any testicular fortitude.

Statement should read

“We stand beside Charles Bediako as he appeals what we feel is an unjust and inconsistent decision by the NCAA according to what has been allowed across all sports nationally and in the SEC.

Also Greg Sankey’s mom is giving out 2 for 1 handjobs in midtown Atlanta until 3am.”
