The guy is on pace for 70 at halftime in a game we are trying to get to .500

Very streaky shooter. He went 9-12 from three point range in the first half and scored 35 of his 46 points. At the half MSU led 49-33.

With 1:20 left in the game Auburn led 82-80.

To MSU’s credit they pulled it out.

It was a crazy game. State led 55-37. Auburn shut down Hubbard in the second half. Auburn led 80-73 late before State finished the game on a 18-5 run. And Hubbard had a huge layup and a three pointer that gave us the lead for good. And we amazingly made our free throws at the end.

Murphy missed a wide open dunk for Auburn. Last year as a Bulldog he missed a wide open layup at the end of the game against Bama that would have tied the game.
What goes around comes around.

Really odd to me Jans and Beard are having bad seasons. Huge fans of both. Maybe just the hit or miss nature of the portal.

On paper, State’s portal players looked promising but they have all either been wildly inconsistent or just simply average to below average. Jans is an excellent coach and he will get this thing fixed. Even this year with five games left, maybe a game like tonight will kick us into a run.

Regarding Ole Miss, the talent is there but they have been snake bit and that devastating ice storm that hit Oxford definitely affected the team. Practice was changed, scheduling was affected and now the downhill slide is like a giant snowball rolling and getting bigger. Likewise Beard will have a good team next year.

It’s definitely a “miss” year on the portal for us. Really hurts when you spend near 2 million on a post player that SUCKS (Ballard). We have got to evaluate better this offseason and surround Josh with a good squad

That dude has the tools to be dominant. And he is just plain lazy. He is leaving huge money on the table by just gliding through the season.

Ballard and the other big are too poor of post players to allow Auburn run a gimmick 2nd half defense to stop Hubbard that opened up clean low post post entry passes for easy buckets but never make Auburn pay for it.

Literally the play where Keyshaun Murphy quieted the crowd he was completely sealed off under the goal when his guy received the ball. If the guy tried to ball fake just once he would have scored. Other times the post players couldn't even catch the ball.

The team has let Hubbard down.

Ballard is the definition of low basketball IQ. He looks lazy cause he’s constantly positioned wrong and getting beat. Luckily Davis-Fleming emerged for us.

I’m old enough to remember seeing Jeff Malone play and thought the very same thing. SEC POY as a senior and Coach Boyd said our best chances of winning were just letting Jeff shoot as much as he could.
