I’m late to the party. I got one question why doesn’t Chamblis want to go to the NFL?

No troll … is he not good enough?
I mean at LSU the last 20 years the biggest worry was losing underclassmen players to the NFL, not trying to get a kid a 10th year of eligibility. I just don’t understand. Why isnt the kid wanting to go to the draft?

So he’s like Pavia he wouldn’t be drafted high enough. That’s what you’re saying without just coming out and saying it.

Probably not. It's the NFL draft. I mean just last year, Sanders was projected to be one of the 1st picks and slipped to 144th pick. You never know what's going to happen. Plus, with his smaller size, he really could benefit from another season of development under the GOAT QB coach.

I am just guessing but I think he believes he can make just as much or more money off of NIL another year and can continue to hone his skills making him more valuable to the NFL next year.

I’m not taking anything away from the kid. I thought he was ready to play in the NFL. I watched him play four or five times last year… look good to me.
I just think back of all the players that we’ve lost over the years to the NFL. I don’t know what percentage of them never made it. Big leaving early, but I’m sure it’s a bunch of them so that logic that one more year could’ve helped him never really stuck, but with this whole NIL on the amount of money they’re making I guess I understand why.
Things are diff now.

why doesn’t Chamblis want to go to the NFL?
1. It would be taking a pay cut.
2. Versus college players he is a man among boys.

He's not good enough. Lacks the size and arm strength.

QB class next year will be much better.

What about the last 5 years or so when NIL has been such a large impact on players.
Kids are choosing to stay in school over being 4th round picks because they can make $500k and be in school

If Ole Miss is paying Chambliss more than he'd make in the NFL they are just plain stupid.

Who really gives a frick? If a small business wants to pay me more than a Fortune 500 company then I'm working for them.

I don't disagree, but will counter with this. How long will that small business stay around if they are paying WAY above the going market rate?
Answer: Not Long.

quote:Kinda apples to oranges comparison here (and I introduced that, not you). The NFL has no competition from another league. Now they have some competition from NCAA teams that are willing to pay more than the Rookie contract level.

Answer: Not Long.
So there is now an actual market as opposed to an NFL team drafting you and you getting what you get from them with no competing offer from another team.
