Gonna be interesting to see how this goes. If he loses, then the judge will have directly contradicted himself on Pavia

Is the argument on him whether JUCO years count?

Yes, seeking one final year of NCAA D1 football, claiming that JUCO years do not count. It is literally the exact same situation as Pavia

I’m talking about a Tenner alum.

Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar filed a lawsuit in Knox County Chancery Court to extend his eligibility and play for the Vols in the 2026 season, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported on Monday afternoon. Aguilar previously attached himself to the Diego Pavia case in November as his productive season as Tennessee’s starter neared its conclusion, but is now blazing his own path.
He played two seasons at Diablo Valley Community College in his native California followed by two seasons at Appalachian State. After the Pavia injunction and subsequent NCAA ruling granted him an extra year, he first transferred to UCLA in one portal window before connecting with Tennessee months later after the Vols and starter Nico Iamaleava had a messy public split.
Aguilar’s pivot is presumably aimed at improving his chances of a successful ruling, be it a temporary restraining order or a preliminary injunction, and getting one quickly.
He is now set to be represented by Cam Norris, who has represented President Donald Trump in the past and previously defeated the NCAA in court on behalf of the University of Tennessee.
“After a breakout season as the Volunteers’ quarterback in 2025, the NCAA is blocking Aguilar from playing a fourth year of Division I football – depriving Tennessee of a gifted quarterback and robbing Aguilar of millions in compensation,” Aguilar’s complaint says.
More information is expected to follow.

He should have known that college football is corrupt.

Don't blame him.
What is another year at Tennessee worth to him ? $3-3.5 million I'd think right ?

Aguilar played 2 years of JUCO, 2 years at App State and 1 year at Tennessee. I thought JUCO no longer counted towards eligibility? So he should have a year left, right?

Correct

The Pavia injunction was just for one year until the NCAA figured out its reasoning for why JUCO doesn't count, but they never did. Hence why Aguilar is trying to get another, since nothing has changed.

He should because Pavia was granted it, but still has to be granted

This dumb bastard spent 4 years in JUCO

No precedent was set. That judge granted an injunction, which is now moot. It carries no legal weight on any other judge.

Exactly which is why he has to seek another one. However, if the situation is exactly the same, which it is, and the NCAA has not rectified any issues, then there is no reason for Aguilar not to receive the same treatment. Nothing has changed

All these qbs that have no shot at the big leagues trying to stay in college forever to milk every single dollar they can before they go sell insurance is pretty pathetic.

Until Chambliss, all of these lawsuits had been filed in federal court, including Pavia’s. Aguilar filed in Knox County. Not really sure how the OP thinks this judge is in a position to “contradict himself” when the Pavia case was never in Knox County chancery court, much less in front of this judge in particular

Didn't realize that Aguilar moved the case from Nashville to Knoxville. Would be interested to know what the logic is in moving courts when one judge has already granted the injunction vs one judge being in your backyard. Not a lawyer so happy to learn if someone could explain it

There are millions of dollars at stake.
