We're 3/4 of the way through the regular season, and I still can't tell.
UF and Arkansas and Kentucky and Vanderbilt seem like the best teams, and maybe Alabama. Maybe UT? A&M should have won that game in Knoxville. But it's just so hard to know, and each of those teams have some mystifying losses.
A&M was expected to be maybe the second worst team in the league, and I still don't think we have the talent to make any kind of serious run. We're just too small.
Maybe everybody in the leage sucks this year?

We got lots of good teams. Consistent on the other hand?

Lots of good teams, but no great teams.

No one has really impressed me at all in our conference this season. Still a ways to go. February is when teams that have a run in them typically coalesce for that stretch haul.

Arkansas is slowly getting it together, It’s not certain yet, but if they do they are elite and the only SEC team with a chance to be elite.

Within the last seven days, they lost by 30

A&M looks good. Should be at least a 2 seed right now.
But no one is asking for Murphologogy so..

This. I think any team in the SEC could beat any mid top 25 team on any given day, or lose to any top 50 team on any given day... but no one in the conference is beating Arizona.

They def have the highest potential of any team in the SEC. They need to learn to be consistent every game and not take a night off here and there. The talent at every postion is there.

A&M is massively undersized in the frontcourt. Teams with large atletic front courts like Florida, Arky, Tennessee, and even Texas will expose them. With that said, Bucky has done a great job.

I agree, massively undersized. Florida Arky might have no problem.
And yet A&M took Tennessee to overtime in Knoxville and beat Texas in Austin.
Go figure.

Arkansas has too many flaws to be elite.

Texas had the chance to do that about a week ago in Austin, but got their arse beat.
And Tennessee beat them in double overtime in Knoxville, but only because A&M went 3-7 from the free throw line with a two possession lead down the stretch in regulation. Tennessee was lucky to get it to overtime.

I will be watching the Arkansas and Florida games with interest. A&M should have beaten Tennessee and did beat Texas already.
Still a long way to go

That's what I figured and still do, but here is A&M losing in double OT to TN after blowing game winning free throw,
won AT Austin over a Texas team beating all the top teams, and AT Auburn who just took down Fl on their home court.
Bucky McMillan is fuggin unbelievable with what he's done after being the last coach hired, no roster, and the only possible superstar out for the season.
Honestly believe now we have the best coach in the country. The man has NEVER been an assistant coach, so he's had the luxury of trying out every scheme he wants withiut asking.
He 100% believes he knows exactly yhe best way to win in basketball, and i have no reason to doubt him after his record in 3 levels of basketball- H.S. (multi state championships) G5 (natio al coach year, 3 conf c-ships and just short of major upset over Kansas in NCAA) and now 1st place in Power 4 conf when expected to finish last or near last.
