I very seldom even read their content. And always ignore the cuck (I won’t even type his name) who wrote the article. UA should ban him for life from being anywhere near our athletic department. Get tough with assholes like him. Don’t let them bully us around.

1. Sports journalism was ruined when columnists’ jobs turned to stirring up s**t. The great columnists of the past in this state like Bill Lumpkin, Alf Van Hoose, Jimmy Bryan, Cecil, Benny Marshall, Clyde Bolton, John Pruett, even back to Zipp Newman, Bob Phillips and Naylor Stone, weren’t afraid to take tough stands even if they weren’t always popular and weren’t afraid to poke people who needed poking. Neither were some of my heroes outside Alabama like Red Smith, Dick Young, Grantland Rice, Jim Murray. But they didn’t stir up s**t for the sake of stirring up s**t.
2. For the record, AL.com’s “publisher” went to Coastal Carolina, their content director (including sports) went to Southern Cal, their “editor” went to Missouri and their news director went to North Alabama. No one from Lee County, Alabama, is involved. Goodman, FYI, is a UAB graduate.

Scabinski was the start of the muck raking garbage journalism as far as I can recall. He still tries to throw his junk in the circle regularly. 1819 News really needs to invest in a sports department, and they would put an end to Al.com. Sports coverange is the only reason why many people still go to that site. They usually have a full line up of stories. I refuse to even give clicks to legit stories over there.
