Question for LSU fans

I've noticed ever since CLK got hired, I see him referred to as Lane a lot. When did we start referring to coaches by their first name?

This isn't a dig, I don't think I've ever heard coaches called by their first name.

Not sure tbh. But Les was called Les pretty often among the people I knew.

Calling him Kiffin would be confusing as there’s a vastly superior coach with that name(RIP)
