is getting absolutely 0 respect for a team that made the cfp quarterfinals and is still stacking top 5 recruiting classes.

ESPN just released their early preseason rankings...23.

The coaching staff and entire team should consider that a major slap in the face. I know we looked bad against IU, but we still beat all our rivals and split with Georgia.

Hopefully it provides motivation beyond the NIL bag size.

Players can only be so motivated. They have to be well prepared and execute. As fans I think we overestimate the usefulness of motivation.

We play in the SEC…teams as usual will be ranked higher than they should. With Texas, LSU, and Georgia. It’s going to be a gauntlet like every year.

The years of dominant rosters top to bottom are over which used to be our strength. I don’t mind being ranked where we are with a tough schedule. We just have to win.

We don’t know who will be our QB for sure. We don’t have a dominant playmaker on offense that can carry the load. Coming off the worse rushing game of all time and will be young at RB.

Taking all of that into another tough schedule and that’s just the offense. The perception of being a playoff team gets cancelled out when you lose to FSU and then get blown out in two of the biggest games of the year.

Going to have a lot to prove and it’s fully DeBoer’s team now.

We are returning less next year than we have in at least 15 years. We are very thin at O line while also being highly inexperienced. We are going to have a brand new QB learning on the fly. WR room is very thin as well. D Line not great talent.

This is the kinda team where you see the value of your coaches. If this team is good as a unit we got some good coaches on staff.

We're replacing a ton and didn't really address our most glaring holes by adding star production out of the portal. I think we have a higher ceiling than some teams ranked above us but I bet they have fewer unanswered questions about the depth chart.

Ranking us higher than mid teens requires a level of belief in the DeBoer system that I'm not sure even our own fanbase wholeheartedly believes in right now. If you believe DeBoer is one of the greats in the sports right now then this team has a bunch of guys who have been in his program for 3 years and some good gap-filling transfers. However, the product Alabama had on the field since about the South Carolina game through the Rose Bowl did not look like football you'd expect from a great coaching staff. We basically only had one great win after the Tennessee game and it was partly due to Oklahoma tripping over their own dick after going up 17-0.

That's how anyone who isn't a partisan like us is looking at it in my estimation...

I tend to agree with what others said during the season that the "they doubted us" thing was lame...but at the same time Bama has needed a mountain to climb for a while.

I agree our team should be motivated but let's be BRUTALLY honest here, the SEC in general simply isn't as dominant as it once was. I'm sorry but it's true.

Dominant teams don't lose to Florida State in convincing fashion and they don't get absolutely destroyed by Indiana on national TV, When your HC refuses to fire your offensive line coach who is killing you with his terrible coaching, that is a really bad look for the program.

You have the optics of a lot of players bailing on the program. It has the appearance of rats jumping off a sinking ship. Granted, I don't buy that narrative but the media damn sure does.

Then you add to it the seething hatred of Alabama by most of the national media, I don't think anyone should be surprised by the lack of respect.

Frankly, Alabama and CKD should be embarrassed by this past season. Can they bounce back? Maybe. I think they got some upgrades in the portal. Firiging Chris Kapilovic and Jay Nunez and getting a proven winner to replace both of them would be a huge start.

Will all that be enough? I don't know, I hope so. CKD also needs to realize his coaching seat is hot and start doing something about it. Otherwise, in 2027, his coaching seat will be molten magma hot and he'll be dead man coaching.

Beat all of our rivals and made the cfp quarterfinals...finished in the AP top 10.

I'd hate to see the meltdown if Bama were to go 7-5 with losses to auburn and Tennessee.

I think Bama should be a legit contender every season...but people are still acting like we're in 2015 in the middle of the Saban Dynasty. That was the greatest run in college football history. Trying to always compare to that will make for a miserable fan experience. Doesn't mean we shouldn't be pissed about games like FSU or Indiana or that changes aren't needed in certain areas.

Yes, the perception of this can would be much different had the season just ended after the Iron Bowl, or even after the OU win.

I wish the OU game had been our Bowl game and we finished 11-3, SEC runner-up and avenged the OU loss in the Bowl game…..the IU beatdown really hurt the perception of the program.

Good news is that all Bama has to do is win and rankings are irrelevant.

Players may not be “motivated” to get revenge like prior to NIL Era days, but it CERTAINLY should motivate the staff bc their jobs are on the line if they can’t eventually correct it.

The offense has to change. That will be what makes or breaks CKD

I agree with this completely. Indiana was obviously a great team, but 38-3 should never happen to Alabama. I truly believe if our offense had put points on the board after the defense gave them the ball near midfield after IU's first possession that we make that a dogfight at least and not a blowout.

Which leads back to the offense. I guess I'm optimistic about 2026 even with a new QB because the QB play can only improve from what Ty gave us the last 2 months (due to injury or whatever, doesn't matter now).

Jam Miller might have been the worst starting RB in my lifetime...have to say RB has to improve almost by default. Both Miami and Indiana had RBs running with aggression and bad intentions...we used to. Need that again.

But the whole key to everything is the OL...scheme, technique, strength...everything has to be looked at there...and hopefully real changes made.

Last year he averaged 4.8ypc,, and went for over 800 yards. He was solid as a Sophomore too….not sure what happened. Looked like a completely different player (in a bad way) this year. Ran timid and unsure of himself. Last year Bama ran gap-schemes like counter/Power/Iso and he was very capable
