This is a short highlight reel of the greatest team ever, the 1995 Nebraska Huskers.
This is real football. Look at the hits being laid out just 30 short years ago. Hands to the head, horse collars, just football the way it ought to be played.
This game we have now is nowhere near the game we had. I miss this game.

Why not just give the players machine guns and see who’s the last man standing?

Don't forget letting players attend the local community college to "check" academic boxes.
The talk about the SEC starting the "bag man " era is bullshite. We just did it better.

Maybe you can give Texas players dildos to lick on the sideline.

Hands to the head, horse collar tackles, machine guns...
And if we are going to allow blindside blocks? Might as well let the players drive tanks around the field...huh?

It's definitely a different game now.
I miss the old days.
People don't want to admit it, but shite is better when it's dangerous.

This thread shows why CFP is the way it is now. Because enough soft and squishy people are now out there to support it.
Some in this thread appreciate the game the way it was. Others look down their nose at it because it was ….. what …. too violent? Not sporting?
It’s a shame.

I watched highlights of Kentucky vs North Carolina in the 1976 Peach Bowl. Both teams would have had their teams thrown out of the game. There was some real hitting back then.

Real damn football powered by Prop 48 super thugs and steroids.
Nebraska and Tennessee were the two best at miraculously getting half retarded gangbangers qualified and enrolled back in the 90s. But then then the rules were tightened up, and neither program has been shite ever since.

Didn't Nebraska have 21-22 year old's before covid?
Seems they would stockpile big corn fed linemen that sat the bench, practiced hard until they grew into the linemen you want.
I'm a bit older than some but Nebraska had players on scholarship for baseball and basketball just waiting to play on the line of scrimmage for the football team.
I may be wrong?

Damn was that the year they raped a pretty good UF team wit Spurrier as coach?
I remember thinking it looked like a pro team running thru a HS team. and UF wasn't a bad ream.
Looked like men against bois.
Best team ever. Especially compared to the teams of that time.
You just dont see running backs like that anymore. Rule changes have a bit to do with ith it.

Says the stupid bastard pulling for thUGA with their 43% (lowest in the nation) graduation rate for players.
Seroiusly, you're literally ignorant.

What he stated was not wrong. Once Osborne lost the Prop 48 qualifiers, Nebraska was done. You can thank your friends at the University of Texas for that...entitled pussies got tired of getting their asses kicked.

I get that they are big on safety these days... but the analogy cracked me up.
Reminds me of when all those people who got worked up about Casey Martin getting to use a golf cart instead of walking the course because he had a gimp leg...
Fair enough, walking the course is actually supposed to be part of the game.
But people would say stuff like.. "Running backs don't get to use a golf cart" when they carry the ball... as to why Casey shouldn't be able to use a golf cart.
Well duh, they call them "golf carts" instead of "football carts" for a reason.
