Imagine the CFP games we would have got if Tulane and James Madison didn’t get a DEI spot

This CFP has shown that there is more parity than ever between the top P4 teams. I think a 16 team playoff would be very entertaining if you get rid of the non-P4 spots.

It needs to be the 4 conference champions and the next best 12 teams.

JMU put up a helluva lot more fight than Alabama or Ohio State did. Almost all of the CFP games have been one sided arse whippings.

Or Texas Tech. JMU lost to Oregon on the road by 17. Texas Tech lost at a neutral site by 23 and didn’t score on the defense that gave up 34 to a G5 team.

Are people intentionally being stupid?

OSU had the ball down 17-14 midway through the 4th quarter. That is an extremely competitive game. Miami deserved to win but putting Bama and OSU in the same bucket is hilarious

Ohio lost to the, what, sixth place ACC team?

Take your OOF and GTFO.

Let’s just have 64 teams! If you’re 5-7 or better, you’re in! So fun!

JMU, who lost their first round game, put up more fight than Alabama who WON their first round game?

Then the SEC would have ZERO wins against other conferences.

Fine with this. But I do think 16, without the G5 shite, would be best. 8 home games to start would be awesome.

And let the BCS pick the 12.

BCS standings and first round games -

1 Ohio State
2 Indiana
3 Georgia
4 Oregon
5 Ole Miss
6 Texas Tech
7 Texas A&M
8 Oklahoma
9 Notre Dame
10 Alabama
11 BYU
12 Vanderbilt
13 Miami (FL)
14 Texas
15 Utah
16 USC

#16 USC @ #1 Ohio State
#15 Utah @ #2 Indiana
#14 Texas @ #3 Georgia
#13 Miami @ #4 Oregon
#12 Vanderbilt @ #5 Ole Miss
#11 BYU @ #6 Texas Tech
#10 Alabama @ #7 Texas A&M
#9 Notre Dame @ #8 Oklahoma

16 is the same timeframe as 12.

Having byes in college playoffs is stupid. Just have a couple more home playoff games the first weekend.

I'd probably tune in to most of those matchups. Miami/Oregon and Notre Dame/Oklahoma would be among the most intriguing in round 1.

Would have been funny. Texas fans would be depressed before and after that game.

This is so overblown and the G5 inclusion is probably due to more legal reasons than DEI (the hot word of today)

You're not getting rid of the G5 spot

It's okay to admit that your team didn't have the heart of JMU buddy. No shame in it.

This would actually be the way.

You can't win a NC if you don't win your conference.

JMU was down 34-6 at halftime. Putting up a fight in the second half against Oregons JV team is impressive i guess.
