Could you imagine Bama with Cignetti instead of DeBoer?

Have fun thinking about that for the next 3 or 4 years Bammer fans

The thought of them hiring him when Saban retired is terrifying.

I had to look look this up earlier. Cignetti wasn’t available. Indiana had already signed Cignetti on Nov 30. Saban didn’t announce his retirement until Jan 10.

Probably on purpose so he didn’t have someone worth a shite following him

He may be our next coach!

Or with many other teams; we are not as enamored with Alabama as Texas fans apparently are.

All bs aside that would be worst case for all the rest of us. I’m enjoying deboer almost as much as everyone besides bama and thank god they missed on cig. That coach with their talent would maybe have slowed a tick and then been right back to speed year 2.

If Bama's smart, they'll throw it all away for Cignetti.

It’s that we don’t suffer Bama PTSD. We weren’t getting our heads kicked in for the better part of 2 decades. We had enough sense to wait until that was over to join.

Agreed. I’m just hoping they take the same break between their last 2 goats.

Yeah we have no choice. DeBoer will be in Tuscaloosa at least 2-3 more years in even the worst conditions.
ETA: For the record though, DeBoer is our best option. Would be foolish to want to get rid of him right now. He's a good coach but definitely not even a level under Saban like Cignetti or Kirby is.

I agree completely. Besides Saban and Kirby there are no coaches that I would have been excited about for LSU. And honestly Saban would have been more nostalgia for me than anything else. I think De Boer can be good it’s still early and at the time of the hire who else was available that was guaranteed better???? I’m always going to pull against bama but I’m also quite realistic about who they are and have been. I’m glad yall are done but I also wish yall luck going forward. The games are just better when all of us are good.
Also sorry everyone for the novel. I already know. TLDR

There’s no real chance Cignetti leaves Indiana for Alabama.
He just signed a 8 year deal, and he’s in his mid 60s. He’s not exactly in a position to rebuild a program.

Yep because Indiana was such a move right in and compete for titles huh? He might be the type that wants to build at the underdog or he might be the type that wants the prestige from reestablishing one of the blue bloods. What he doesn’t strike me as is someone who’s lacking the drive to do either of those options.
