Mike McDaniel initially drew some eye rolls when he announced, two weeks ago, that then-No. 3 quarterback Quinn Ewers gives the Dolphins the best chance to win.
At least Sunday, the coach was validated, as Ewers threw two touchdowns, with no interceptions, and posted a 118 passer rating in a 20-17 win against Tampa Bay. He won his first NFL game in his second professional start.
Good to see the kid excelling at the next level. Some QB's don't sniff success in the NFL! Ewers always seems like a good kid. Good luck to him and his future. UT had themselves a baw!

He'll do well until coaches get film on him and start to do things that make him uncomfortable and gives him trouble.
aka the sophomore slump.
If he can get past that, then he can have a career.

I think Ewers has the goods to be a competent NFL QB.
He can get I to trouble when his mechanics allow him to sail some balls but he can correct that he will be pretty solid.
The NFL is no joke, and I like to see dark horses doing well. This is a good start to his story.

Agreed.
He will be a top 30 QB.
BTW there are only about 40 people who can compete to start for an NFL team and play decent.
He is one of them.
Miami has the weapons. He could do well.

Yep, you’re correct.
Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Bo Nix burned the sophomore slump though. But, historically you’re right.

Always knew ewers would do well he just needed a competent offensive coach.
You’ll see the same from arch once he gets away from Sark and a competent coach can undo the damage done by his current coach.

Ewers was under appreciated at Texas.

I doubt Quinn will ever be a true starting QB at the NFL level, but he’ll be a great backup QB that can spot start and should stick around for 15 years ala Colt McCoy

Should have used your Texas alter for this post.

He just beat out Tua.
What's that make Tua?

Georgia appreciated him greatly in 2024.

He's the next 7th round sensation after Purdy

So we finally got to the real point of your thread.
And it only took 10 fricking hours.

He’s got a good handle on the game and has elite arm talent. Cheering for his success in the NFL but his body just can’t take the contact. He should’ve been a pitcher but he like football more.

Yes he was. We had no clue what was riding the bench. Lots of hype, but Arch got better throughout the season and I'm looking forward to what he can be with a better offensive line and running game.
