Mike McDaniel initially drew some eye rolls when he announced, two weeks ago, that then-No. 3 quarterback Quinn Ewers gives the Dolphins the best chance to win.

At least Sunday, the coach was validated, as Ewers threw two touchdowns, with no interceptions, and posted a 118 passer rating in a 20-17 win against Tampa Bay. He won his first NFL game in his second professional start.

Good to see the kid excelling at the next level. Some QB's don't sniff success in the NFL! Ewers always seems like a good kid. Good luck to him and his future. UT had themselves a baw!

He'll do well until coaches get film on him and start to do things that make him uncomfortable and gives him trouble.

aka the sophomore slump.

If he can get past that, then he can have a career.

I think Ewers has the goods to be a competent NFL QB.

He can get I to trouble when his mechanics allow him to sail some balls but he can correct that he will be pretty solid.

The NFL is no joke, and I like to see dark horses doing well. This is a good start to his story.

Agreed.

He will be a top 30 QB.

BTW there are only about 40 people who can compete to start for an NFL team and play decent.

He is one of them.

Miami has the weapons. He could do well.

Yep, you’re correct.

Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Bo Nix burned the sophomore slump though. But, historically you’re right.
