The thing about Elko’s weight

For a long time, I just shrugged whenever people made fun of his weight. It’s no big deal, I told myself. Sure, it’s embarrassing, but it’s the size of his brain that matters, not the size of his belly.
Then, I realized something: if you don’t have enough discipline in your own life to at least try to be somewhat healthy, how can you expect discipline from your players? If you don’t care about your own health, what else do you not care about?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a believer. I think he’s the guy. But if he wants us to believe he’s truly going to change things, maybe he should start with himself.

Black can be a very slimming color

He's fat, but who cares? His man tits were good enough to be 11-0. I don't think he's gained enough weight in the last few weeks to make his players stop playing for him.

Dunlaps disease.
His belly Dun Lapped over his belt.

I always figured Elko was a former offensive lineman. I was shocked to find out he played safety.

Why can’t he take Ozempic or something similar? I noticed his face gets red at times - drinking problem?

It’s probably a sign of the strain his heart is undergoing while trying not to explode.

Could have history of pancreatitis which would disqualify him, which would hand in hand w the drinking problem theory regarding the flush face. But who knows.

I would agree but not sure college age kids care. I don’t work with workout trainers for the first time who are obese for the same reason.
It’s honestly not an absurd questions to ask. He’s obese, and all jokes aside when he talks about discipline, physical exercise, etc it would be hard to take him serious. Who would you respect more the coaches who wake up and get after it and are physically fit or him or Mangino?

He’s fat because he ate the 12th man. Double whammy for the program.

It’s like going to a dentist who has horrible yellow teeth.

After giving birth, some typically experience an initial weight loss of about 13 pounds (approximately 6 kg), which includes the weight of the baby, placenta, and amniotic fluid.

Mack Brown had put on some weight at Texas, but that did not bother me. It was his nicotine stained yellow teeth that drove me nuts.
Dude, I’m sure your dental plan is platinum status, get some work done!

So we wouldn’t commit as many penalties if our coach was skinnier?
Actually you may be right. Miami got away with targeting on the goal line and Cristobal is pretty fit

Isn't he around 48? Getting control of his weight now is actually good advice because when a man gets in his 50s the metabolism can become a serious problem like never before.

It’s not so much the size of his belly but the shape. Something looks weirdly off about it.

One thing that comes with age is a little more understanding. I was like you. 40 years old, in great shape, not fat. Could swim across a river, trudge through mud with a bag full of duck decoys on my back. Everyone that is fat is a big dummy! Don't be so undisciplined!
Then, you get older and end up in the hospital because you can barely breathe while taking a walk. Turns out, you have congestive heart failure. Out of nowhere. Bam. You have it. It makes everything harder. You can't work out. Can't walk as much. Can't move as much. You start gaining weight. The whole thing is so depressing that you start sipping more bourbon at night. Then more. Then more. After a year, you've put on 50 pounds. Then a hundred pounds.
Your metabolism slows down, which (along with aging) makes it harder to shed the pounds.
I don't ever look at overweight people the same now. You have no idea what they may be going through. Health issues, stress, depression. It can hit you too.
