By how much is Indiana favored vs OU/Bama?

I'll guess 6.5.
Gonna be a lot of shock and indignation around here when that line comes out but it will probably grow much quieter after Indiana pushes them around for 4 quarters

I think Oklahoma beats them. Bama won't.

Bama is used to those types games and they still have an absurd roster advantage. OU to a lessor extent, they are used to losing big games....

The lines are already out
FanDuel has IU -8.5 against OU and -6.5 against Bama

If Bama SOMEHOW manages to recapture the mojo they had when they played UGA IN Athens, they'll beat Indiana...

Not with the injury situation.
Midseason Bama I would take over IU straight up, this version no.

I think the part a lot of people are struggling with is Indiana has a lot of top end talent this year. They had 6 all Americans on the AP and I think 7 named across all outlets
Where the talent gap strikes is in the depth. They are down to a 3rd string defensive end as a starter now, I can’t see them beating 3 top 10 teams in a row with that

This is what the advanced computer models say:
IU 18 - OSU 26
IU 24 - Miami 23
IU 23 - OU 18
IU 29 - Oregon 23
IU 31 - UGA 24
IU 30 - A&M 20
IU 35 - Bama 21
IU 42 - OM 23

A rather big IF, wouldn't you say?

Metrics aren’t accounting for the loss of their star defensive end
But yeah, they can play with anybody this season
Gumps losing 35-21 to Indiana in the playoffs would create some all time melts

Is OU and Bama going to team up against Indiana?
Still won't be enough

It's easy to stay healthy when you play no P4 teams OOC and only two good teams all year

Indy's 15 minutes of fame is about up.

Why? They seem pretty solid.

They are. But the end of the day it’s still Indiana

Weak schedule helps pad those stats. Three FCS or non FBS teams and 8 teams with a losing record helps

People want to cite this, but it is not a very good point.
IU has played the 3rd and 5th best talent composite teams already. It physically whipped Oregon and went toe to toe with Ohio State with no issue.

I am not sure that is how you can look at teams in NIL and transfer portal anymore.
Vandy falls in the same boat.
The right resources, right coaches, and year to year talent acquirement and you get an Indiana

I very much want to see Indiana try to push our defense around. That won’t go well for them.
I could do without seeing our offense play though.

This is exactly why a Cinderella team won't consistently challenge for a title, no matter how many teams we put in.
In college basketball, two guys can go unconscious on an eight-man rotation.
In football, you probably need 10–15 dogs on your two-deep roster (and at the correct positions) just to compete throughout the postseason.
