And the winner is…….
Auburn! Let’s face it. The Eagle is awesome and their fans are LOUD.
TAMU came in second place, but cool points are subtracted for the ghey milkmen.
Fans liked Tennessee for the setting.
Florida is loud, but terrifying because of roving hoards of Jort gangs.
BDS is the nicest stadium with the nicest fans.

Tenner would be much better if it was not in downtown Knoxville.

It's hard to believe you can be the best when most of your fans leave at the beginning of the 4th quarter and allow your opponent to take over your stadium.
Maybe I am looking at this wrong. Maybe it is the best since you do allow your opponent to take over your stadium and celebrate your arse-kicking.
Never mind my first statement. THANKS LOLSU!

My personal experience:
1. Auburn - frick you, but your stadium atmosphere is the best in the SEC.
2. LSU. Excluding their fans who will grab their crotch and curse you in front of a child, the atmosphere is great and it’s the loudest stadium I’ve ever been in. And most of their fans are fun.
3. Bama - pains me, but despite all the money that has gone in to the stadium and surrounding areas, it’s nice, but not necessarily intimidating. Too much success breads passivity I guess. And whoever is in charge of getting our crowd fired up, must be a soft rock/air supply fan. Outside of Dixieland delight and pre-game, bans/music selection trends toward lame.
4. South Carolina
5. Tennessee - I guess.
6. Georgia
7. Ole Miss - they try.
8. Florida** only attended 1 game during Spurrier era.
9. Miss State
10. Arky
11 Kentucky
12. Vandy** have not been in approaching 15 years, so maybe it’s improved.
Have not been to ATM, Texas, Oklahoma, or Missouri.

Not being a newb like OU and Texass, I still have a question about this even though we have been members of OUR beloved conference for years.
We really have only played Miss State once or maybe twice in that time. Watching a few games over the years it sounds absolutely awful so I opted not to go to our most recent game there. So my question to members of the Old Guard in our beloved conference...
1. Is it as awful in person as it sounds on TV?
2. Why do they allow noisemakers at only one venue in College Football?
To be transparent...I have no problem with irritating chants etc at other stadiums or even Rockytop ad nauseam. Just curious about this.

Technically, it's not considered downtown Knoxville. It sits between downtown and Sequoia Hills next to a neighborhood called The Fort. Really it's own unique area.

When Auburn is good, that atmosphere is on fire. I can remember watching a few of the Auburn/LSU games at Jordan-Hare from the early 2000s and being in awe.

Apparently you haven't been to Knoxville lately. It is a phenomenal city compared to 15 years ago, even if their stadium is reminiscent of a county fair.

As to why it is allowed, why do football teams let special needs kids score touchdowns?

quote:I have to agree. Been twice (once during Covid), and the stadium's location is a definite plus. Last time, we stayed at the Hampton Inn and that was great--walked to restaurants downtown Friday night, walked to the stadium on Saturday. Didn't even get a rental car for the trip. Being large enough to have a decent airport, UT is one of the few places where you can do that.
