What’s w all the Notre Dame hate?

My dad (NO LIE) wrote his thesis on the bias of the polls toward ND. I kid you not. I saw a a lot of that in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s and personally hate those MFs but they are generally irrelevant at this point.
but I am noticing there is still a ton of hate for the yella-chrome domes around here.
and actually a disproportionate amount seemingly from Aggie.
what gives ?

It is one thing to not make the playoffs. However, Miami has the same record and a head to head win. They have no argument against them.

I grew up hating Notre Dame. It is in my family DNA.

I don't know how old your dad is...
But we used to get Notre Dame crammed down our throats.
Back during limited TV appearances... Notre Dame was the only team that had their own nationally televised playback show on Sunday mornings (with Lindsey Nelson).
I'd bet way more people across the country of that age bracket associate Lindsey Nelson with Notre Dame more than they do Tennessee.
Notre Dame had a nationwide radio broadcast network. Their games were broadcast in every market across the country.
The Notre Dame coaches radio show was broadcast in a lot of markets as well.
And of course... Notre Dame was televised live in the maximum amount of appearances that the NCAA allowed. Keep in mind that some teams NEVER got on TV... Some teams maybe once. But Notre Dame was on two or three times per year, depending on how many times they could be...
Then of course in 1990 they got their exclusive contract with NBC... which was during one of their peak periods...

They need to schedule 3-5 teams with a pulse. Look at next year’s schedule and agree the should be double digit favorites in 10 of them.

A&M hate for ND. Stole Bob Davies back when I was young. Lost bowl games to then twice in the same timeframe. Recently, had to listen to them whine all year long about the loss to A&M.

They choose to be Independent in football to give them an easier path. They play cupcakes all year and lose to the 2 good teams. They would have 4 or more losses if they played a SEC schedule.
