At the end of the day, they are a good team stuck in a really good conference. They probably are sitting at 9-10 wins in the Big 12 or Big 10. Might have gone undefeated in ACC.

Yeah, I am too. That coach looks like he's put in a lot of work and they showed a lot of improvement this year. Just missed a few very big wins by one or two plays.

I thought we got worse as the season went on and our defense ended up being a disaster again.

But if nothing else, we made the switch to a freshman QB with a really bright future so I’m glad he gets the extra practices and experience. It will be his show next year and he’s probably getting more hype than any State QB since Dak.

Just think the schedule got tougher. It was pretty backloaded.

I think the quality of competition went up as time went on. Though I get it may feel differently. I do think he fricked up not starting Taylor earlier. That kid is a stud.

Like others pointed out, the schedule got more difficult, but injuries/lack of depth will just murder you in this conference as well. I presume MSU will want to play this game, and they should be rested and ready to go. Good luck!

I'm happy for them. Their QB looks promising. I hope they win this bowl game.

I am glad you are happy about that. I am sure that all of Oxford is rejoicing over this.

I am absolutely embarrassed that this terribly coached MSU team is going to a bowl game. We should never have accepted.
So many of you here sqawk on about getting practice and a paycheck. WTF?!? I think integrity matters more and accepting a bowl bid you didn't earn doesn't show a smidge.

Sacks should be measured in a neutral category that only depletes Team totals. Same for TFLs.

Why? Because negative yardage plays are almost always inextricably linked to offensive team performance whereas there is no way to separate the contribution of individual performance from positive offensive yardage plays.

Conversely, TFLs and sacks are attributed and delineated to individuals while the negative yardage metric accrues to the team defense. Which, in essence proves the point, imo…

Making a bowl isn’t nothing. Shane Beamer wishes he could get a tub a Mayo dumped on him again

It’s okay, man. I, at least, found it an interesting post.

Coach dies. State goes and makes a solid hire to prepare for a total rebuild with less than 90% of its peers budget. Makes marked improvement in year 2 and manages to get into a bowl game and state fan is fed up and quitting on the coach. Open up your checkbook or show some reasonable support.

They offered, we accepted, get over it.

There are plenty of other football games to watch if you would like to sit this one out.

I’m sorry to use such a worn-out meme, but

We were about 5 frustrating plays or decisions from 8-4 in the SEC

We should have won the Tennessee, Florida and Texas games
