is number 2 in composite talent in the playoffs?
So, where are the results…that’s my question also. Sounds like coaching problem.

Bama has the highest average player rating in the composite as well.

I haven't studied Georgia or Ohio St's rosters or watched a lot of their games but I can tell you from what I've seen Alabama isn't close to as talented as either top to bottom. Coaching is obviously very much part of the equation but the so called "Bama bump" people use to complain about is real.

Well the difference is we have a new coach and a drastically new system.

Watch the Ohio State RBs or any of Georgia’s and compare to ours. L-O~L!

When we were healthy back in October we were right there with the Vegas favorites and had just beaten UGA in their place.
Now it’s December and we’re Swiss cheese and they’re better at the moment.
To compete for a championship we’ll need:
-drastically improved QB play
-to be functional again with the interior OL
-at least one WR, preferably RW to be elite again
-Hill or Miller to get back to at least avg
-Cuevas back
-S/T to stop being a massive liability
Absent that we might compete or win one game but we aren’t the best team or one of the best rosters functionally.

We have had some big misses on O-line and D-line the last few years under Nick and a lot of that became a big issue.
O-line particularly. where the big slow lineman have to be replaced and lots of guys played this year with very little experience.
combine that with poor QB play and here we are

This along with offensive line is the biggest difference. Our RBs used to be great, they’re average at best now. We have 2-3 good o-linemen, but you need 5 that consistently win their assignments. We don’t have that. I put a lot of blame on Simpson. Mainly because I think we have better talent on the bench. That being said, if we had a couple of more o-linemen and a Derrick Henry type in the backfield, we’d be undefeated with Ty

I understand, on paper, we still have plenty of talent. But our overall depth was decimated with the asinine new coach portal rules KD had to navigate.

Y’all act like we won 5 games
Ten games , SECCG, playoff berth . We are where we need to be. Not playing our best but still heck of a year with the schedule we had . Like Kirby said, we are a beat up team right now . OL is not good but hasn’t been in a couple of years
ETA- our defensive talent is awesome and they play like it , even without players with injury we have missed all year. RB and OL is average at best and obviously that will make things difficult . Besides Bernard , our WR play is not what we are accustomed to either . Bernard has been good and Brooks will be but….

Indiana just beat OSU with an abysmal composite talent ranking. This isnt a video game. Injuries, fit for system, etc are an actual thing

Seriously....its a night and day difference. There is a huge disparity on explosiveness
That will change next year

The BSC (Bama Sunshine Club) doesn't approve your RB criticism.
As of today, Bama doesn't have an elite RB on the campus. Just a group of plodders at best.
Those that downvoted you never played a down.

Maybe just1 elite OL too. I look at this offense and I’m really not that impressed with any of them other than #5 and #1.

Bama has a lot of talent. A lot of it is either hurt or underperforming.
QB - Fine
RB - The least talented bunch in a generation
WR - Fine, RW has been a terrible disappointment this year while the other guys have been good
TE - Cuevas has been fantastic but is hurt. Other guys are young
OL - They haven't been able to get 5 guys to stick with. I think Carroll is going to be a stud and if Brailsford comes back they have some good pieces. I have heard Coach Kapolvic will not be back.
DL - Fine, no real game wreckers though. Haven't had any since 2020.
LBs - Good
DBs - This is the best group in the country
Special Teams - Cole Adams is good at fair catching. Everything else is embarassingly bad from place kicking to punting to kick returns.

The OL coach has to go. Two years of this shite is enough.
Kalen has his hands full once the jocks and socks are back on the shelf. He has some decisions to make about his staff.
OL
ST
WR
TE..80 brought his stuff with him. The others aren't making the progress needed
OC...this guy was fired after one shot. Why is he now down on the field. The look on his face last week was fear. Bama did Ok for the 1st half of the year but then once the teams had seen our passing game, shite changed. Is it #15, OL, or the inability of the offensive staff to change up the route tree and make the opposition have to work. Looked to me like Kirby's scheme was just allow his db's to run to the spots where we throw the same damn pass week after week. He and Gleen bet they could get to 15 before 5 and 1 could get to the same damn spot as usual.
Kirby was correct.

I think DeBoer should make a move at both RBC and OLC. Robert Gillespie has been here since 2021 and the best backs he's coached were both not developed by him at all: Brian Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs. Since the roster turned over to players who were mostly or exclusively coached by him, we've been a fairly lackluster team at tailback.
The concern I suppose is that he's the Coach Best Friend recruiter type for a lot of guys across the team. At a certain point, I feel like the run game's ineffectiveness is going to cost DeBoer his job sooner than losing a few players to the portal because Coach Best Friend was punted off the staff.

Year 3 is Major for Kalen. You will still owe him near 40 million after year 3.
JMO but he is so much like Bill Curry. Great person and a pretty good coach. He needs to return to the West Coast.
