Back in the old days we had the mess of all of the random bowls and no clear champ

Now we have the dumb signing day/portal calendar making the Kiffin, Sumrall coaching change mess

Players chasing the biggest bag and jumping teams every year

No clear metric for how the playoff is fielded

I'm not mad at bama, I think it's fine that they're in. James Madison and Tulane are the problems IMO.

It's time for the SEC, Big 10, and a few select teams to break off and do their own league with Saban running the whole show. The NCAA and CFP are a bunch of clowns

G5 needs their own playoff, or expand the playoff to 24 (every conference champion + 15 at large).

If you took the SEC, top ~2/3 of the B1G, and a couple of programs from the ACC and Big 12 it would cut down the clutter and make it easier to see who is good or not.

The only reason I am against the hypothetical super conference is it would kill everyone elses programs. I dont want NFL lite, I like COLLEGE football. shite some of the most entertaining games to watch this year have been weekday games involving Delaware who was a FCS school before moving up to CUSA

Yet, they definitely need to change the playoff system. If we are going to keep conference champ games, at a minimum the tie breaker for CCG teams needs to be who is highest ranked in the CFP (Miami would have been in from that) instead of whatever weird rules the ACC has. The conferences are too big to leave it up to fate and allow Duke and Virginia as real options...

They should also cut it down to 4 auto bids instead of 5. The ACC and Big 12 are closer to G5 than P4 at this point.

But isn’t it already NFL lite? It feels like it’s already there. It’s NFL lite except for less quality play.

Quite a few programs have the NFL lite model, but a true NFL lite model would never see a program like Vandy or Indiana breakthrough.

It has been a mess for the last ten years. The NCAA should have gotten ahead of the transfer portal and NIL issues before they turned into what we have today.

Yes, it's unbelievable how all this has played out and evolved into a total cluster fk.

Hopefully, they can come up with some solutions that will keep college football, college football.

What they have now is just dumb, not having any rules at all.

This will get us one step closer to the super conference of 20 to 30 teams, who only play each other in the regular season and bowl games. James Madison and Tulane will get smoked.

Ya think? Texas just finished paying a guy $10,000 per play. What this has become is disgusting.

College football being a mess is tradition.

Tie games, NCAA monopoly on not being able to get on television more than twice per year, then the CFA, more NCAA shenanigans, $100 handshakes, recruiting, BCS, computers, the polls, the list is endless and ongoing…

But no matter how much they try to make me not watch, it’s my damn passion.

12. Play every team in their own conference plus one out of conference game. Also each team gets 4 byes.

You are correct. The more the NCAA tries to “fix” things the worse they make it.

You have the same problem as the NCAA:

In denial & fighting on behalf of the corpse of yesteryear, instead of accepting reality & making the league the best it can be as a professional league.
