Saban when Kiffin coached for him:
"Why the frick did I ever hire that narcissistic frick? Get the frick off my sideline, bitch."
Saban when he retired from Bama:
"Do NOT hire Kiffin. That idiot would ruin everything I've built."
Saban when LSU reached out to him:
"You guys should definitely hire Lane Kiffin! I think that sounds like a fabulous idea!"
Saban "loves" LSU.

Why are we making this a thing? Kiffin is a former assistant that revolutionized the Alabama offense. Regardless of how it ended in 2016 I have no problem with Saban taking up for him. He’s always went to bat for former players and assistants.

That’s what I thought too but maybe, just maybe, Saban wants Kiffin to prove himself first at LSU before Alabama comes calling him.

Doubt Kiffin would leave for Bama. Saban wouldn't have. LSU is a final stop unless you want the NFL. He'll probabaly get fired in the end though.

Yeah I don’t like Kiffin from a personal non coaching stance but I’m not upset LSu hired him. I don’t get all the wailing and gnashing of teeth over this.

Man...
I fully expected our ole miss faithful to lose their minds over this hire and provide some schadenfreude.
But reading what our bama brethren have had to say has been much more entertaining.
