We’ve mostly all been saying this.

“One of the things that I think is important, is Ty has been leaving the home position to change plays – platform," Saban said. "And the other team is changing the defense. So that doesn't create any advantage for you by checking the play on offense. Hopefully he'll do a little better job of that this week and that won't be a problem for Alabama's offense."

Confuse the defense by appearing to change the play, but not changing the play - go through the motions of it, but keep the play called when the defense shifts

Every team and every player have tendencies, relative to the play called. Some QBs set their feet differently whether run or pass play. Very difficult to coach those out of a player once established. Saban was a master of finding and exploiting them. Part of why he was so successful. I hope Ty heard him and listens.

Huh? What is Saban talking about?

According to some of the braintrusts on here it's that damn Grubb and his horrible playcalling and late play calls.

Besides even if Ty is checking to the plays the defense is easily stopping because their extensive film work has exposed his tendencies... this is only happening because he is injured!!

Hard eyeroll.

Glad the GOAT spoke up about this. Maybe the slow minds will finally catch up

Idk..but Ty audibles way too much. It slows the offense down and generally doesn’t work.

Which is why we burn through all of our timeouts well before we should

Is Grubb not responsible for what Ty is doing on the field?

Is Ty not responsible for his own actions as well?

Why is he the only player a section of you don't want held accountable at all while holding everyone at a standard over 100?

One last question.. is it the injuries that is making him to continue to have bad clock management, check into the plays you guys complain about and miss PSL reads?

As I have been saying Ty Simpson's situation is all mental and once he sorts that out we can win it all. If he doesn't we won't

Have you considered that Nick was sending a message via the QB to the coaches that have allowed this process for 12 games?

You are this boards version of Ryan Clark.

An obnoxious and overbearing a-hole.

Sorry for interrupting.

Yeah theres an easy fix to this. Start calling a fake audible, then when defensive signal caller starts changing their defense and their players are trying to listen, go to line quickly and quick snap

To some degree, but you are too dense in the head to remember who the amateur is and who the professional is that should be able to recognize this flaw and teach him to stop doing the same shite over and over...

That is exactly what Saban was doing there.

Starts with the head coach, ultimately the OC is responsible for instructing Ty on what to do. Ty is doing what he thinks is right, the OC has to step in and teach him, develop him in that regard. Same to Sheridan.

Just run a play before the play clock hits 1. It looks like a fire drill every play...and I'm not sure Ty has audibled into a big play all year.

Not only that the plays Ty is audibling to are Grubb designed play calls. They're the second in one of 2 he has. Ty just doesn't call some random play out of his arse.

Once the QB has the ball, he fakes to the left. No, he fakes to the right. He doesn’t fake. He thinks about faking. He pretends to fake.

On a serious note, I think we need to play with tempo. Not HUNH, but with more pace so that Ty can get in rhythm. Ty needs to get rid of the ball under 3 seconds.

Yep. We are slowing it down too much and defense has time to figure out whats going on.

With our injuries on defense we need the offense to grind it out today.

It’s infuriating that they haven’t done this yet. We all can see what’s happening. The other thing you do is audible to a new play that is designed to beat the same defense. I.e call a play designed to beat man defense, do all your motions and if they’re in zone, audible to another man defense play such that when they audible out of zone, you’re good to go.

The problem with it is if they don’t audible, you’re kind of screwed. But AU was audibling pretty consistently.

You also can run hurry up which gives the defense no time to audible. That’s why our hurry up has worked better than our regular offense.
