Alabama is finally playing the game with its new schedule updates...

It has dropped South Florida from next year's season and added Chattanooga. Additionally, we've added Marshall to the 2027 season. Depending on what the Committee does next week it wouldn't surprise me if you see us drop Ohio State and Notre Dame from our future schedules.
This is what college football is now. Welcome to the new reality.

Bama dodging USF is a new low

Ironically a loss to USF next year would probably look better than losing by 14 to this year's FSU team.

TBF USF gave them hell a couple of years ago.

This is the unfortunate way. They are ignoring SOS entirely. Texas should be in, but could be punished for losing to the #1 team 12 games ago.
Vandy should be in, but they love those weak schedules TT, BYU, MIAMI, VA had.

You won't get any arguments from me but why play a semi-decent opponent and risk an upset/injury - hurting us in the eyes of the Committee in the process - when you can just schedule an FCS school for the scrimmage experience?

Yes but still significant

A&M and Miami
albeit, losses, they scheduled them and are making the playoffs, sadly.

Would be shocked if that wasn't directly related to Golesh leaving.

FSU finished 5-7. That's on DeBoer for choking in that game. FSU was not a scheduling error it was a coaching error.

Yep. Any losses by these teams should have completely eliminated them from consideration.

Why the hell were we going to play USF for a 3rd time in 4 years?

How many people are going to come sit and watch bama take on cupcake teams? How many will watch on the teevee?
Seems like it might backfire

ECU is going to be better than USF next year and we kept them around.

I don't think we're going to stop scheduling 1 big OOC game a year and would be very surprised (and disappointed) if we cancelled the Ohio State series.
I do think we'll be getting rid of any 2nd P5 games moving forward with the 9 game SEC schedule, of which we have a lot over the next decade.
