Petrino resigned from Atlanta when they were 3-10, happened to resign the same day Vick was sentenced to prison. Here’s a short compilation of pundits blasting him.

What they said:

“Makes me sick.”
“He’s a quitter.”
“A total liar and a fraud.”
“He’s a total creep for making the move now, he’s a quitter.”
“It’s a sleez bag thing to do.”
“Bobby Petrino’s a fraud, Bobby Petrino’s a quitter.”

I wonder what LSU fans were saying about him then?

I'd say Petrino's handling of it was a lot worse.

Dude just left without telling anyone. They got the f out of dodge.

Lane tried to work with Ole Miss.

At the time, CFB was considered a downgrade.

Many LSU fans are Saints fans so they were probably laughing. No one really gives two shits.

Bottom line LSU made the hire it targeted. Every other SEC team in our position would have done the same thing and the fan base would have been unapologetic about it. Anyone that says otherwise is fricking lying.

more amusing than comparing it to petrino who basically took a life raft all to himself off a sinking ship?

if anything we can both say lane probably wanted to spend more time with his players for whatever reason, and ole miss wouldnt allow that for whatever reason, right?

Petrino’s exit stands alone. Told Falcon’s owner Blank the day he left that he wasn’t going anywhere. Blank is flipping channels at midnight and sees him festooned in hog gear, calling the hogs at his intro presser. In between left notes in players lockers and slithered for the airport.

I don’t care about the Falcons or Petrino.

RIGHT!

Then when he didn't get his way what did he do? Threatened to burn down the program on the way out.

frick those kids that worked their asses off to get him to 11-1.

Kiffin is a piece of shite. Now he is at a piece of shite school, with a piece of shite fan base. Y'all are going to get exactly what you deserve.
