And so it begins. Hate it for you, Ole Miss

Well, the precedent has been set. As wrong as it is.

But unless you want to brazenly display your SEC bias, they have to allow someone else into the playoffs other than Ole Miss. How can you justify FSU out for an SEC team and not do the same when an SEC school loses much more than one player?

Correct.

Ultimately it’s about preserving the SEC brand. Having the embarrassment of Ole Miss being beaten by a “lesser” program isn’t worth the paltry sum the conference would receive by their participation.

I’m an LSU fan and happier than a pig in slop today. Needed to qualify for what I’m going to say next.

There is no precedent for this. When FSU was kept out, the playoff was 4 teams and there was an on the field example of what they looked like without their QB. The playoff is 12 teams now and there is no on field example of what Ole Miss will look like without those pieces. To keep them out would set a dangerous example of playoff inclusion/exclusion based on pure speculation and no on field evidence.

This already is happening by ignoring head to head matchups.

I hope they play Tulane and get beat by the other coach that quit.

It won’t happen. The pathetic attempts to grovel for playoff spots will be met with silence.

If you don’t know why, then you are stupid.

I think it's a moot point because an 11-1 Ole Miss team is going to be in but FSUs performance wasn't bad. They defeated a scrappy Louisville team to win their conference championship and finish undefeated. There was no precedence set for that.

I hate FSU but leaving them out that year was the biggest frickery since maybe PSU not getting a share of the title in 1994.

If there’s anyone that has their finger on the pulse of college football, it’s Ole Miss. They nailed Kiffin staying.

Its not wrong. The committee should have the freedom to consider all variables and angles in determining the best 12 teams. Period.

I know Ole Miss hates us right now, but F anything but the on-the-field results when a team goes 11-1 in the SEC. The players did what they needed to do to get in. The other shite is out of their control with the NCAA and their assholery that allows for all this stuff to happen when it happens. I hate the timing of it all even though I think my team has gained a very good coach.

It should solely be about on the field results. If Ole Miss is a 5-8 team based on resume, they should be ranked 5-8. End of story.

Put Texas in instead of OM. They at least have a coach.

Yeh but there are certain things that won’t happen.
