Guessing Durkin leaves, wonder if Pruitt will join him. Would be an interesting hire.
Not sure Kelly is a slam dunk by any means but he can recruit... Not sure that matters anymore though

Kelly would be a terrible hire. Pruitt will not go.

Pruitt has on field limitations and was given permission to be a special assistant at JSU only. I doubt his presence until 2029 makes a difference.

I think Pruitt was appealing the on field stuff as well. But not sure where that ended up

If true, Auburn clearly isn't serious about football anymore, at least their higher ups aren't. They should have just used Durkin as a place holder until a better candidate surfaced two or three years from now.

I agree. I think that they would have hired him had they won last night. But who the hell knows what’s going on with Auburn. It’s a weird place.

They won't hire someone who doesn't understand how things work in the Shittiest Village and isn't willing to play ball with their boosters. No mystery. That's literally all there is to it. Chizik, Gus, Freeze, and now I guess Kelly all fit that criteria. Harsin didn't so they immediately undermined him and tried to destroy his family in the process.

It's just about sure to be Durkin.
They played significantly better under him, he's got P4 head coaching experience, and it'll probably save their roster.
It's a "push the easy button" hire with a good deal of risk, but with the LSU, Florida, and Penn State jobs open there aren't many options out there that aren't even bigger gambles.

Really? Maybe it looked a little better but they lost really tight games to the good teams they played with Hugh. Then they did the same thing with Durkin.
