But I was told by several, SEVERAL, posters on this board that Ty was horrendous on Saturday afternoon and that Austin Mack was Canton bound based on his performance.
Weird, huh?

Ty was fine except for the first INT, which was really not a good throw.
Not much to gather from the game last weekend to be honest.

I do not understad the grading metrics. Cade was inserted into the game to do 1 thing for one play and he did it. How does that equate to a 60.0 grade rather than the highest grade of any of the QB's?

Their individual grades are worthless.

Can you explain the rankings or you just gonna to regurgitate something you saw to attempt to discredit someone?

Sure.
Pro Football Focus has a ranking system that says Ty Simpson outperformed Austin Mack based on their play Saturday afternoon.

Their grading may be worthless, I don't know why you think that though? Care to explain?
In abstract, competent coaching staffs are individually grading players based on assignments and their execution of it. So individual grading systems are not exactly abnormal.

You think throwing one bad INT and almost throwing another a couple series later against a very bad team is good??
That was a really bad FCS team with 3-wins on the season BTW...

Where did I ever say we should replace Ty Simpson, talk much with Mack??
Even Keelon I have said clearly that he made the same mistakes Ty did and he wasn't ready.
Why I get downvoted has nothing to do with the content of what I'm saying and honestly downvotes matter only to those sensitive or children.

This is shortsighted though...
All you have done is give credit to the dummies who say we should start Keelon because "Pro Football Focus has a ranking system that says Keelon outperformed Ty Simpson and Austin Mack..."
In the end all of that is nonsense because Ty Simpson is our QB, we aren't moving from him and no matter how much you guys want to stick your head in the sand about his performances of recent... they haven't been good and we NEED them to get much better.

I didn't say he played great.
Just pointing out that a neutral ranking service shows he didn't play nearly as bad as this board thinks he did.
He was without two of his primary "safety" options in Bernard and Cuevas. Ryan Williams dropped an easy TD, too.

PFF's methodology is complicated.
You can read more about it here:
How PFF grades all positions at the NCAA and NFL levels
For this thread topic, you may want to just jump to this article that explains how QB grading works: How PFF grades quarterback play
quote:
The PFF grading system is all about isolating the quarterback’s performance on a given play. We bring context to every throw, with a focus on timing, decision-making, accuracy and much more. Raw passing stats are often a gauge of the passing offense, and pass defense, as a whole, the PFF system is measuring the quarterback’s contribution to that production.

Come on man, we were playing a horrendous team that isn't even FBS. Let's put that into context; they are terrible on FCS standards, talk much FBS.
When your QB is inaccurate against that secondary? Throws a INT and almost another in the same half?
That isn't good and if you would be honest he hasn't been playing well and instead of ignoring it this should be highlighted so he is motivated to recover himself.

I see PFF doesn't include leadership, pimpability, courage to slang the pill deep or height in their evaluation. I'll pass

A coaching staff grading players wouldn’t be worthless. The coaching staff understands the role of every player on every play they call, how a player has been coached, etc. PFF does not have that knowledge. Take any of their individual rankings with a HUGE grain of salt.

JJ Watt on PFF:
“I’ve heard personal stories of Uber Drivers telling NFL passengers that they break down film for PFF. That they watch the TV copy ONLY and put a grade out. You can’t watch film on a TV copy and make a grade. PFF player grading SUCKS. Stop putting it out.”

They grade on a median. 80 would be above average, 60 would be below. They probably just slapped a neutral rating unless they actually looking for line adjustments or some jazz
Those aren’t the actual amounts but basically think of it as WAR. It’s not 1-10, it’s a range starting from 0
It has limitations, such as not knowing specific blocking assignments and having to assume what a defensive lineman has been told. It’s generally okay at assuming outside of lines though. It’s not 100% accurate.
That being said, Brooks Austin still has him as #1 in the SEC and that guy basically eats up film which should tell you how film guys are actually viewing his play as of late
