Arkansas punts the ball and it clearly goes out of bounds at the Texas 42 yard line. Clear as day on replay and clear as day in the stadium.

The line judge runs 23 yards beyond where the ball literally just landed right in front of his face to spot the ball at the Arkansas 35 yard line putting Texas in position for a field goal before the half.

There have been some awful calls in this league but ive never seen a line judge miss a spot by 23 yards. There is no way that ref is that awful. It has to be fixed.

What is gained by rigging the Arkansas and Texas game?

Yeah, they really need Texas to finish 8-4.

It landed a yard or 2 outside the field. From a geometry perspective, there's no way in hell the ball would've gone out of bounds at the Arkansas 35 yard line.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that. That was pitiful, I’d like to see an explanation.

$$$? Idk but anyone that saw it live has the same question

OP isn’t off base for asking it. I want to know why Arkansas sideline didn’t raise a stink. That sequence made zero sense

ETA well OP didn’t ask anything but what he’s saying is what happened. I’d like a reporter to ask Petrino if he saw on the spot postgame what thousands of people saw? That was bizarre

they would've rigged the game for Texas vs. Georgia if that were the case

Only possibility is the line judge was looking at the ref who points out the angle and that ref just completely whiffed on the trajectory of the punt. Because the ball landed about 5 feet in front of the line judge and the dude ran 23 yards past where the ball landed right in front of him 2 feet from the sideline.

I'm old enough to remember the days of the SWC when Arkansas took a fricking every time they played Texas in anything

While your logic seems sound, that was a batshit spot & I’d love to get an explanation.

I don't disagree. Petrino should've been out on the field ripping heads off. since he wasn't I imagine there was some kind of explanation.

You do not mark out of bounds punts where the ball lands. You mark them where they crossed the line.

You mark it where it went out of bounds, not where it lands. They always do that.

Lmao oh how I have missed this for 12 years.

We are ranked 135 out of 136 in penalties per game. Yeah we totally have them in the bag haha.
