Is peanuts. Would Mizzou leadership be out of line to go on the offensive at this point. I know seems ridiculous on its face, but honestly he's a poor coach against good competition. He allows Moore to kill the offense which was Drinks specialty. He recruited and paid Pribula 1.5 million and then blasted corporate donors.

Why isnt Mizzou leadership asking, with these resources, shouldn't we get a HC who takes the team to the next level. People justify keeping Drink by comparing him to historical bad Mizzou teams. I say compare him to contemporary teams with equal or greater resources. He's just not good. Why are we waiting for him to dump us?

I might let him have one more go at an OC

Maybe.

But I like the idea of Missouri being aggressive and getting out in front of his potentially leaving.

That would just cost us millions on a buyout in a year for the OC. We need to send Drink a message that him beating bad SEC teams and padding the record is not what he gets 9 million for.

Best recruiter in Mizzou history coming off back to back 10 win seasons, his team always fight hard. He is hampered by a horrid OC. I would demand he replace Moore and Link. If his next OC is a train wreck the upcoming schedule will be his undoing. Oh and this is the worst year I can remember to be looking for a coach.

I've been over him for at least half the season. He is being given top 15 salary and NIL and producing top 25-35 results.

And then he has the gall to act like he needs to be given more, or he'll go somewhere that will provide him top 5 resources. What a clown.

Honestly, I wouldn’t want to be in a coaching search this year.

If drink mans up and fires Moore, I’m good with him staying.

Back to back 10 win seasons padded by easy teams. Recruiting improved as NIL donations improved. Is that anything another decent coach couldn't do at Mizzou?

No, he needs to move along. Sick of his hand out. The talent on this team doesn’t deserve the half arse coach they have.

Why is everyone pissing about "bad year to do a coaching search?" Great coaches aren't going to be on the market any year. The best you can hope is to mine a diamond. No one knew Cignetti would blow up, people doubted Elko after A&M imploded last year. It's always a roll of the dice.

People will say “but the 80s and 90s”

Frick the 90s. Entirely different program now, we actually care and are putting in resources. Tired of this “woe is us” crap. This is 2025. Texas Tech is a juggernaut. Indiana looks as dominant as anyone in the B1G

Find a way to get results, look at the players today and our guys can hang with anyone in the SEC. Find a way to actually win 50% of these “big games.” Drink isn’t doing it

He needs to realize his seat would be scorching hot at any place other than Mizzou with what he's been given versus what he has produced.

For all you fans scared to lose this mediocre coach consider this.
We can be a program that demands to get to the next level with the resources to do it. OR

We can be the program that was dumped by a mediocre coach and blamed for our lack of resources.

Sorry. There's no room for a reasoned overview with some historical perspective here.

He's another god damned Missouri turtle. Like every god damned coach we've had since Devine. Yes, that includes "we do what we do" Pinkle. Lost all respect for him after the Navy debacle. Stale, predictable offences all. Just sick of it.

Drinkwitz isn’t going to be fired. He will be overpaid to stay, if anything.

At some point, he will accidentally win a big game. Or not.

Here is some perspective...

1. Drink won't sign a token extension to send the message he is committed to Mizzou.

2. Drink has been offered up to 3 million line item budget for an OC.

3. Drink got 1.5 million for a QB with 56 passes at PSU. Add Horns NIL deal and he has gotten nothing for about 2.25 Million.

4. Drink was paid top 10 coaching money.

After all that, Drink inexplicably picks a fight with donors. Which can do nothing but hurt donations when combined with another year of a terrible offense. Name me 1 top program that would let him get away with that. Mizzou didn't want this fight, Drink did to make himself more attractive to PSU despite his terrible record in big games.

Drink isn't going to be fired but he shouldn't be given an extension. He's under contract for 4 more years. He hasn't done anything to warrant talking about an extension, so if he thinks a blue blood is going to give him top 5 resources, he's crazy.

If we were a blue blood, he'd be coaching for his job right now.

I respect your opinions, Venom. They're always informed and enlightening.

A question... How is asking for major corporate involvement picking a fight with donors? It's not a matter of trying to expand on the already existing base of individual and smaller business donors? I see trying to develop more as a good thing now and moving forward.

I 100% came around on this thought over the past two weeks and believe you can find the next rising star even in a tough cycle like this.
